It sure was a beautiful day in Wasilla. I drove out to Palmer and it was pretty too. When will start snowing in Wasilla? Do they keep the roads pretty clear of snow and ice during the winter months?

It’s anyone’s guess when it will start snowing, I have seen snow in late September and early October in the past. The main roads stay pretty clear but can get a little rough every now and then. They do not use salt on the roads in Alaska. Occasionally they will spray the highway with a brine solution to help keep ice from forming and sticking.
