I'd say expect to endure the heavy LA traffic first, but once you make it well beyond the city and into San Bernardino County, traffic becomes more and more forgiving. I drove my family and I during a trip from Vegas to LA and back in November. Driving through San Bernardino County wasn't bad. The only tough part of the trip was enduring the LA traffic. Other than that, be prepared for a long drive.

Hi is this the easy less steep and turns drive to get to big bear/arrowhead from LA? From the 210fwy or 15fwy?

This is the best and easiest route up. 210 fwy -18

Very curvy road with turns and somewhat steep. I did not drive, I took the shuttle, Mountain Transit.
