In that Ball park on Harrison inside and to the right next to the hill there was a tiny carnival with a small rollercoaster and the owner would let my brothers and i ride for free every weekend to test it before the people showed up :) early 70's

Wow - Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I was born at St. Bernardine hospital in 1954. I lived at 13th and Sierra Way in the 1980s, and spent a lot of time in the Waterman and Baseline area. The Highland Avenue/Del Rosa intersection has sure changed. Where the McDonalds is located, there used to be a small gas station. In about 1960, my dad had a new pick up truck on the hoist at the gas station and if fell off and did extensive damage. On the SE corner, was Sage's Market. It was a huge supermarket, home center and toy store. We bought all our groceries there as a child.

Thank you for sharing and watching. There was a total of seven sage’s markets throughout Southern California with the last one closing in 1973.I wasn’t around yet but I did hear about them.

I don't think I ever made it that far East on Highland when I lived in SB. We used to play in the wash out that way and visited my mother's friend in Patton State Hospital.

Right there at Perris Hill park on the corner of Valencia and Highland that David Koresh from Waco Texas used to preach

Nice to see you are out and about again. Looks like they moved all the homeless in tents at Perris Hill Park out. The streets did not look that bad on your journey. Unfortunately, the streets are way worse than a year ago. Just very sad that the city received like a 4 million dollar grant to rejuvenate the stadium at Perris Hill Park, which is not at the top of most people's list for what needs to be fixed in San Bernardino. Yet, still can not figure out how to help the unhoused. I am glad I was able to help you with the little bit I had to give; it just was not nearly enough to make a change. I recently moved out of San Bernardino, 20+ yrs was enough for us. We will try and enjoy a quieter, safer neighborhood in Redlands. Be safe on those streets; you never know what you will run into at any corner in San Bernardino now. Take care, Erica

That road is tore up , your camera shakes so bad i cant focus lol , Dang you drove right by my moms work there at Valley convalescence home its pearsons medical group now across from 16th and i lived off 18th on Broadmoor blvd left in there 1992 have a baby brother Clifford buried at Saint Bernardines Cemetery (196?) R.I.P brother
