Thanks soo much this is so helpful, can u link me a dvd for hazard perception as the one i already have ive used alot already.
@@ana547 Do you have that one? The DVSA official one?

Thanks 4 the link i dont have that one but unsure whether it would work on a dvd as my laptop doesnt have a disk,my best bet is to get more hazard perception apps my test is two weeks away ill let u know how i get on :) ur a great tutor btw
@UKDrivingTest5 жыл бұрын
@@ana547 ah i see, yes many laptops do not have the ability to run disks anymore. I think the real trick to passing the hazard perception is understanding how it works. I have not done hazard perception practice for years, but I would be quite confident to do it as I know how the system works.
@capengando5 жыл бұрын
Surely, the DVLA has to come up with a better way of testing this. It's highly possible that a good driver would click too early on the hazard and fail.
@UKDrivingTest5 жыл бұрын
Yes that is true, and many driving instructors do click to early as they anticipate want might happen. The hazard perception test does not test anticipation, more reactions. imo a driver should be proactive anticipation and not reactive and just slam the brakes on when seeing something at the last second. But it is better than nothing, well that is the way I think about it.
@Chloe-gd8qk5 жыл бұрын
That’s the problem I found with hazard perception while practicing, during my test I clicked the hazard once when I Firth’s saw it and about 2/3 seconds later to make sure I hadn’t clicked to early. In the end I got 65/75 on my hazard perception
@myfrequencies19125 жыл бұрын
My problem with it first time around was just not acknowledging what the test considers "potential hazards". If you actually got behind the wheel with such a paranoid attitude you'd never get above 5mph! Not really relevant in the real world at all but probably ok as an introduction for absolute beginners.
@myfrequencies19125 жыл бұрын
@@Chloe-gd8qk That is a great tip. It didn't bust you for "clicking too often" then? I believe it warns of this at the start of the test.
@UKDrivingTest5 жыл бұрын
@@myfrequencies1912 the hazard perception test does not assess your judgment of potential hazards, only the developing ones, so the ones which you DO need to brake or steer. If you did not spot the developing hazard then it means you would crash when driving. Also bear in mind the theory test and hazard perception is mainly aimed at complete beginners.
@Nodster5 жыл бұрын
I would like to add to this, use the time they allow you during the Theory test to steady your nerves, take a breather. Do the tutorial at the start of the test, it helped me to settle into the test and get comfortable with how the system works. If you complete the multiple choice answers part quickly then use the remainder of the time to go over the answers you gave and use some of that time to relax yourself before the Hazard Perception as well as use the 3 minutes between the multiple choice questions and the Hazard perception the system allows you. I found that doing as many hazard perception tests online can greatly help but as a side note i actually found the online ones much harder than the real test, this is probably due to lower video quality that has been uploaded but at the end of the day it all helps. People like Driving Crawly give some great advise for learning to drive, the tests etc etc. Now for my Test Results :D Multiple Choice: 50 out of 50 correct Hazard Perception: 63 out of 75 Points He shoots, he scores, PASS.

Are you watching on a phone? If so bear in mind how small the screen is. What quality is the video playing at on your phone? 1080p? 244p? 🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:37 🚗 To pass the Hazard Perception Test, you need to score at least 44 out of 75 points, with a maximum of 5 points per developing hazard. 01:07 🚧 Hazards are points where you must take action by slowing down or steering to avoid an accident. Identifying developing hazards is key. 02:25 🚗 Be aware of concealed drivers when approaching T-junctions, as they might not see you. 02:48 🚴♀️ Children on bicycles can be developing hazards, especially if they might cycle into the road. Use the 2-click method when a hazard starts to develop. 03:38 🚗 Avoid clicking for every potential hazard to prevent over-clicking. Click for high-priority hazards, such as pedestrians near the curb or looking back. 06:13 🚗 Focus on clicking for developing hazards, not potential ones, and avoid clicking too close together. Stay alert for multiple developing hazards in one clip. Made with HARPA AI

8:10 He was just walking on the other side of pavement at a ridiculously slow speed.. Why would the driver stop for someone NOT waiting at the crossing? that rule is to give way to ped who are waiting to cross. He clearly wasn't, and had the driver continued at the speed, he'd barely have reached the crossing even then. --BESIDES: Whether the driver wishes to wait/go, There was NO developing hazard. So maintaining the same speed would not add to the (lack of) hazard at all.

I seem to be seeing the potential hazards too early, and therefore my “click” not being counted. I also kept being disqualified for clicking in a pattern. It was getting very frustrating! The double-click method really helped me and I just passed first time, so thank you. I was actually doing the LGV hazard perception test. It’s 19 clips not 14 and the pass mark is 73 points out of a potential 100. Also helped that I live in Crawley so was nice to see it on roads I drive all the time. Now to book my LGV training. Any recommendations for anyone local?

Am I correct in that most of the clips will only demonstrate 1developing hazard? If so, surely good judgement will tell you what is and isn't going to be the scored hazard, thus saving clicks/eliminating the risk of being disqualified? Yet you advised in one part to click when approaching parked cars on the lift in case someone pulls out/they can't see you, then advised to only click for developing hazards, and not for potential ones?
@UKDrivingTest4 жыл бұрын
Technically you are correctly, you only need to click on the developing hazards and it should be fairly obvious. However the official advise is to also click on potential hazards (just don't click like a mad made on every parked car you see or every pedestrian). I would also say it is a good idea to click on any higher risk potential hazards just to get you concentrating and always looking for hazards. In my other videos on hazard perception I experimented to how many times you can click and proved you can in fact score 5 points with just 1 click, but it is not a recommended technique. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXTEl5pvZql1nbs

I failed my hazard perception a few days ago. on my LGV cpc test I got 90% and my LGV theory I got 95%. for my hazard perception I got 35%. This video does really help on how to pass this test only. In real life I clocked those cyclists a few seconds before you clicked. I guess I'm spotting things too early (if thats even a thing)

i remember years ago doing the hazard perception test. I did pass but at the time most people I knew that failed theory it was on hazard perception. I found it nervewracking although I did practice with a cd for a long time. It did hold me in good stead as I reduced my clicks. I still if I saw a potentional hazard clicked early. Then I would try to hold back until I saw something develop. It can be tough as you really just want to keep clicking as you think they are tricking you which is not the case. You do not get points for an early click when seeing a potential hazard but do not lose them. I knew on the day I would be nervous and I think did do a couple of double clicks due to nerves but generally I tried to restrain myself as at the time I was advised do not do double clicks. and that is where the practice held me in good stead. Overclicking can end up failing you as they suspect cheating. Generally 3 or 4 clicks or even 5 if more than one hazard which some clips are should be fine but just clicking all the way through to cover your bases wont work. I really dislike the hazard perception test though, even if I know why they introduced it. I remember at the time many driving instructors were up in arms about it though as they disagreed strongly with the marking on it. Hopefully it has improved. I never did pass my practical and theory has long run out. However in the next months I am planning to do my cbt for motorcycle and then will take my test so will be back in that test centre quite soon omg haha. The question answer is easy as long as one learns the highway code and many of the answers actually are commonsense. The only part I dread is the hazard perception. With your 2 click you do not mean doubleclicking do you? As I was advised against that. Or has the attitude changed on that. It was years ago I am speaking of. PS I just tried a practice one after many years and passed easily so better than I expected on with mostly 4 for every clip. Each one had one early click potential not scored. I always tend to do the potential and as you said it sets you up right. It seems to make you feel more alert and ready for the clicks that count.

Are the videos better quality on the actual test? It's easier to spot hazards in real life and harder in videos, I only spotted the cyclist around point 3 because he was just a blur among the colours because of the video. Also does the test detect where you're clicking? Or does it count your point for clicking anywhere, because I find that sometimes I score less on practice tests because It takes me an extra second to centre my mouse on the hazard trying to click on it.
@UKDrivingTest5 жыл бұрын
You just need to click, do not need to move the mouse / courser. The real videos are now CGI and will be on a early large monitor, like 21", if you are watching on your phone of table it will be hard to see the hazards due to small screen.
@kurrys98515 жыл бұрын
@@UKDrivingTest Thanks! That should make it a lot easier. Also I know they penalise you for clicking too much but do we know the limit? I've been told it's a good idea to click when u spot a potential hazard and then click a few more times when u think it's developing but still before it's happened. Is it okay to do that without risking failing the clip entirely?
@UKDrivingTest5 жыл бұрын
Typically no more than 10 clicks per video clip, or no more than 4 clicks in a row. Not 100% sure on this, but a rough estimate based on experience. You only should click a few extra times on the hazard that develops so you should never really go over 10 click, unless you are clicking on EVERYTHING! like every park car, ever pedestrian and every blade a grass! Best thing to do is practice some clips and get use to how many clicks you can 'get away with'

Cleverness is probably going to be a hindrance with questions as dumb as: "What do you do when you see horses on the road? A) Speed up & sound your horn. B) Slow down & pass wide with caution. You will smash it.

I passed mine for the first time this morning😊 It only took me 2 mild revision days and 1 serious mock tests filled day before the exam day. I did not touch the highway code cause that sh!t weighs more than me Lmao. All I did was mock tests after mock tests and practice questions. just make sure you hit the topic that causes you to fail often. I struggled with the documents and road signs, so i made sure i focused on those for a good two hours in total. I covered 741 of the 757 on the paid driving theory test 4 in 1 app (£4.99) before i took the exam. it is really worth the money guys! MY RESULTS: theory: 48/50 hazard perception 59/75 Imagine what you can achieve with 3 days of serious revision! Good Luck!🥺

Can we at least click ON the area where the hazard is developing? That would help narrow things down

Have a look at part 2 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXTEl5pvZql1nbs But basically don't try to move the cursor, it will delay the click and is not required.

I think it was a recommended refresh break during 2 hours journey..guessed the right answer...hazard perc CGI was must easier and slower in the main test.Thanks again for your help

So best way is clicking all the time :D But, what happens if i click in moment, when there is no hazard?
@UKDrivingTest5 жыл бұрын
You will not be penalised if you click and there is no hazard. HOWEVER, you will be disqualified from the clip if you click too many times, typically if you click more than 4 times in a row or more than 10 times throughout whole clip.
@emelia24115 жыл бұрын
Hello there! What do you mean by when you say scoring window? I am not sure what you are talking about while watching video, could you explain please.
@UKDrivingTest5 жыл бұрын
The 'scoring window' is the section where you can score points on the clip. So lets says the developing hazard causes you to take action (brake) at 3:00, the scoring window opens at 2:55, you get 5 points if you click as soon as it open, and 4 points at 2:56, 3 at 2:57, 2 at 2:58 and 1 at 2:59, 0 points at 3:00 as by this point you should have already reacted, if you did not in real life you would have a crash and hit the hazard. You need to have a click at within the scoring window to score points. If you click at 2:54 you will get 0 points, so by doing the 2 click method you are more likely to get a click inside the scoring window. Quick hard to explain in words, hence the video.
