Somehow I just learned about this place despite growing up like 20 minutes away. Nice review.

That’s beautiful but it would definitely fill our LJ with mud. Since we live in the west we don’t bother with fender flares. I really like the hike to the water fall that’s a great idea for other parks to include.

I know they sell fuel and have a pressure washing station at the general store. I don’t remember seeing air, but I brought my own compressor with me. So, I wasn’t honestly looking for an air up station. I’m going back next week and will look for one. I’ll reply here if I see something.

Great video! I will be there this May for the Jeep Jamboree in my Mojave for the first time. This really gave me a great insight of what I will be getting myself into. I'm running 37's with a 3" lift, do you think it will do ok?

I did trail 26 and 27 last time I was there. I was on 37’s in a Rubicon gladiator and didn’t need lockers for most of it. You’ll be fine

Thanks for the video, very informative! I'm set to try this trail system this coming August with another YT channel group ride, and I'm pretty sure I'll be the biggest vehicle there. I'm going to be running a 2016 Ram Powerwagon Crew Cab on 37's and King suspension system. Could you possibly tell me what trails to AVOID so that I don't bash in body panels? Am I limited to only the moderate rated trails? I'm very skilled with my truck and past Jeeps, I just know that I'm very big, wide, and heavy, but have lockers, sway-bar disconnect, skids, and a winch. Thanks.
@DrivingLine
@DrivingLine 2 жыл бұрын
That’s a big truck to navigate there! My gut is that the Moderate trails will be the safer bet. I think you could do some difficult trails if it’s dry, but there is going to be a chance for body damage with that truck being as wide as it is.

Nothing crazy. The bolt attaching the rope to the drum broke. This caused the rope to swell when I was using and slip on the drum. I didn’t know what was happening at first. Once I realized what had happened we reset it the best we could. Unfortunately, it kept slipping on the drum making it where the automatic brake wouldn’t work. I swapped on a new rope when I got back and it’s working fine now.

This jeep has as much in mods as a new sxs costs and most sxs can do this in 2wd and no winching lol. Nice jeep but they’re just not cut out for the hard stuff unless you have $100k or an old shitbox cut to pieces and breaking every other obstacle

Hope you got the jeep badge of honour. With your type of vehicle setup 37s instead of 40s will give an overall better performance, I guess (it's only my humble apinion) 37s we'll give you a good balance as well better than you expected. If you already tried and you already didn't like it then must be the wheel back spacing and your steering colums setup. I, know many folks running 37s on their gladiators and the vehicles drive better in hard trails. Although you're in 40s you made the trail look more sketchy than it actually does. I, don't how good and experience off road driver you are, so seeing you struggled quite a lot and judging you and your vehicle setup is very much unfair. Like I said before it's only my humble opinion and no offense intended, bro. Being an off roader myself I got to share my opinion. My rig is different (less capable), trails are different, my way of driving is different. Your's is a super capable off roader but mine is ISUZU d-max (all terrain), you're on 40s and I'm on 35s but with a right modifications so far I'm keeping up with jeeps Although winching, maxtrax Or using rocks to clear diffing out is a necessity for my rig to keep up 😃

I’ve been driving off-road since I was a kid. I can tell you without a doubt that the Gladiator works way better on 40’s than with 37’s. I’ve wheeled it with 35’s and 37’s for a long time. The long wheelbase greatly benefits from the larger tire. I’m not sure where you think I struggled unless you are talking about the two spots I needed to winch. Those were unavoidable. I have a solid-axle swapped Chevy S-10 on 40s and 1-ton axles I use for more extreme wheeling. This Gladiator was primarily built to go long distance wheeling (currently on my way to Moab, Utah, with it). It’s also a great Jeep to take my family wheeling with. If you have time, please feel free to check out some of my other videos on the channel where I’ve wheeled the Jeep with smaller tires. Also, this Jeep drives amazing thanks in part to my scrub radius with my 5.5 inches of backspacing. Thanks for watching.

@@DrivingLine you must off roading on proper off roader(4wd), but in my case it wasn't. As a kid we off road even in two wheel drive(van, hatch back etc) bone stock. When we first got a proper 4wd (Mahindra jeep) it was in the late 80s. Solid axel (both) least springs, no power steering, no ac, no radio, not even a seat belt, no doors, soft top, bad halogen headlights but we were so happy cause it was a whole lot capable. With bench seats at the back 4/5 adults can go for an overlanding and hunting(games) comfortably. We had to built our own roof rack. It looks like a willy's but longer. Even the tyres are like willy's. In 1991 a new off roader Maruti Suzuki Gypsy was launched bought my Dad bought it again. I always prefer the Gypsy cause it was more capable than the later and comes with more features. Like you I have been off roading properly since I was a kid (1989). It was all wagon back then, but now we do overlanding or touring in a dual cab 4WD but we got to build up a lot and after market gears are expensive as hell. We don't have the likes of jeeps and Toyota Lc back then, but we are satisfied with what types of vehicles (4WD) we have now and then. Adventure is what we enjoy and adventure can be done not only in Rubicons and landcruisers. We have adventures in a 15k dollars 4 bies and we'll continue it to do so. We don't need 40 inch tyres, spot lights as bright as the sun, 3/4 grands wheels and tyres, roof top tent, 279° awnings etc. All we need is a reliable 4 bies, a tent, food and water and most importantly an adventure ninded heart and souls. My point is not to offense you, but we can have adventures in a very cheap price. Sorry if I offended you. But at the end of the day we are the same when it comes to overlanding and that's all I'm saying. We do got pictures and videos. We do it for fun, unlike some folks who did for the sake of a channel.
