Same old anaemic Subaru 2.5lt motor no matter what Subaru say. Will wait for the Hybrid to come out to see if it has any more zip....better still a turbo XT would be a little more exciting.
@jaumeprimerelhipster

I see the sky quite black on that direction. Everyone is waiting for the hybrid. Except we'll all get disappointed. Subaru's marketing revolve around their SAWD/CVT/Boxer combo. The problem is that this combo just doesn't get along well with hybridation. Their hybrid version in Europe gets a small 17 hp engine that pushes for an astonishing 60 Nm of torque. Whatever meaningful electric engine they put in the Forester, the CVT will just not cope with it without breaking. At this point, they could go the Toyota way and put a bigger engine on the rear axle but that would get away with SAWD and would make CVT pointless (vs e-CVT). No matter what they do, they are kidnapped but their own tech.

How's the stability on this one? Looks like the body is longer and still using the old Crosstrek/Impreza frame. I don't care much of the look, but worried about the stability and rollover resistance. I've read that it is 10% stiffer though.

I love the redesign. They changed what I thought was the worst part of the Forester…the front end. It just looked…to use Ryan’s word,derpy. The rest of it I loved. So the front end looks better now IMO, a little more modern and aero and sleek, but the back end which always looked good is very similar to the last gen. As far as the “take a break” and “keep eyes on road” messages, obviously I don’t know if it’s the case with this Fozzy, but my wife has a Mazda CX-9, a ‘20, it doesn’t have the facial recognition software. However when we road trip it gives the same messages, but they are based on time and mileage. So once you’ve driven a certain amount it gives you those messages. Might not be the case here, but could be I would think.

I think it is an absolutely fantastic car and will probably order one when it comes out with the hybrid model... what I don't understand is why they dropped the turbo 2.5 offering in this car several years ago. I believe Subaru should bring it back along with the new hybrid model. The standard engine is way too anemic for my tastes. I wish you would have videoed yourself passing that semi you came up behind on that 2 lane road to show how long it took to pass the truck if you even had enough straight road to pass it.

They dropped the XT due to slow sales.
@ctclardy
@ctclardy 4 ай бұрын
@@drivingsports Yeah... that's their excuse but, I don't believe it. In our area, they couldn't keep them on the lot. They were gone days after they landed and were not ordered cars by buyers. Mazda has no problem selling hybrids in their entire main lineup. I was told the real reason they didn't put them in the Forester was because Subaru believed it cut into their Outback sales.
@eskieman3948
@eskieman3948 4 ай бұрын
@@ctclardy Believe it. They weren't selling that well, period. The same thing with the Subarus that recently lost the option of the standard transmissions. There were very few sales, but when Subaru deleted the standard transmission option, EVERYBODY was whining that it was no longer available, "I would have bought one with a stick", yadda yadda, etc. Well, they DIDN'T, and Subaru is not the size of a GM, Ford, or Toyota, so they can't afford to manufacture cars & options that don't sell. As for the "I was told the real reason" nonsense... show me a Subaru corporate official comment that repeats what you were told. Car lot BS - ALL car sales people with all brands spew this nonsense.

So, in the end, how much difference is in this compared with Honda CR-v, Toyota RAV4, Volvo XC60/90? All do the same service, all have good and bad, why I should buy 2025 Forester in Europe? I like your offroad videos, but seems that all cars do the same thing. I mean, no one pretends that those cars are an off-roader, so what’sthe point? How we consider which model we love or hate? I drove Honda, Toyota, Volvo. Besides couple differences in comfort, basically all do the same thing, all take you safe from point A to point B. 🤷‍♂️

As someone who's lived both in the PNW and NE, there's really no comparison. When people from the NW say things like that, it's usually a reference to the fact that you can SEE the mountain ranges from everywhere. The ranges in the NE you can't really see unless you're in them. In the NW, you can often see more than one mountain range from any vantage point, as well as one HUGE mountain (like Rainier, Hood, Adams, Baker, etc). Mountains are just more present in the NW.

Lots of hype and pretty pictures. I recently purchased the 2025 Subaru Forester. When I got home, I wouldn't say I liked the car. It looks great, but wait until you need to drive it with rush hour traffic, it struggles to keep pace. It isn't anything like the 2010 Subaru Forester that I own. Save yourself and test drive this car on the freeway before you buy it. Remember during break-in, you can't peg 4k RPMs in rush hour when the aggressive drivers are in command. PS. I drive the speed limit and hang in the right lane so don't think I am lead-footed.

Thanks I'm keeping my 2019 Forester. Having almost every control on the touch screen is a disaster waiting to happen plus it being placed well below the line of sight just made it worse. Why? Touch screens rely heavily on visual cues unlike physical controls where you can rely on muscle memory and feeling. Remember, things can go south in a blink of an eye plus the one thing every (good) driving instructor tells their students: KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD.

‘22 owner here. I like the styling of the ‘19-‘24 models better but this isn’t bad. I dislike that they are not offering lighter colored headliners anymore though… all black will make the cabin feel more closed in, and an open airy cabin has always been a hallmark of the Forester. It's actually very simple for Subaru: have 2 engine options (2.5L NA and 2.4L Turbo) in ALL models. I honestly don't understand why the Crosstrek, Impreza, and Forester all get stuck with the base engine without options to upgrade. And no, the 2.0L NA is NOT a base engine, that thing is deprecated garbage meant to sell in "other" markets and for those looking for the cheapest garbage they can buy.

I have a '24 touring model...........I liked My 2013 better.....far better..........The 24 has way too much intrusive electronics........Watching Me...recording every thing I do and taking much of actual driving away from Me...........I spend 10 to 15 minutes EVERY Day turning off doo-dads I do not want..............IE...Engine dying at every 4 way stop.........Mirrors pointing at the ground every time I try to back up, ETC............Car does have a nice satalite radio, but I would rather have My 2013 back again....Also it was a stick shift versus My present slush-o-matic...........Paul

Can anyone out there that owns a 2024 Subaru Forester Wilderness give me your opinion on your experience or knowledge of its reliability and off road capabilities? Any other pro/cons of the vehicle is much appreciated. Thanks!

See the videos on this channel. The Forester Wilderness is more capable than any other CUV with the exception of the Bronco Sport Badlands.

The face recogntion was also available on MY21 Touring as well and its a great feature. One thing I am hoping for in the new MY25 is quietness.

HELP! Seat material (suede part) might be a dealbreaker on my touring purchase. I just saw it today on the car I have on hold. It looks like any wear and tear will show quickly. Real quickly.

Subaru needs to bring back the XT and I have a feeling they are listening. The dual exhaust outlets on the back (just one is being used) kind of says that it might be a possibility we might get something like that in the future, I mean, I am being hopeful.

@@drivingsports but... They did make a fast Forester. ;) no one wanted it because the WRX existed in hatch form, and was a better performer... If the xt existed now, with WRX only sedan, and no levorg yet .. I and many others would probably have one over the outquack.

Love watching your trip videos! So have you heard anything about another hybrid version of the Crosstrek coming in the next couple of years? I have the 2023 Crosstrek PHEV and I would love to see another entry along these lines since hybrids are now becoming the focus for Toyota.

Great camera work, as always. "It told me 'Eyes on the Road,' and 'Take a Break,' even though I was driving perfectly straight down the road." These annoyances would drive me crazy. And imagine the almost-certain, upcoming, intermittent glitches that will be next-to-impossible to troubleshoot. Imagine the "Emergency Steering" override suddenly taking control...

Looks inside like my 2024 outback touring xt . Just came back from my long trip from NYC to Myrtle Beach SC and back . Drove approximately 1600 miles. Average 27.2 mpg . Two people and staff loaded in the car . Most of the time I was driving on cruise control. Average speed 70 mph . Turbo engine 277 hp . I’m using 87 octane gas (cheapest in NYC). That’s the great car . New image of Forester doesn’t mean it’s a new . Same like make up an old face . Looks younger but inside same old …my car is going 0 to 60 less than 6.0 seconds. 9.6 Seconds 2024 Forester ? With empty seats? I don’t blame you . I would do the same if I get paid. I paid for my car 41,056 plus tax and dealer fees. MSRP 44,368 . Happy Mother’s Day ! 😜
