Good luck reading the road markings near any major town. The markings are nearly always covered by congested traffic. But good descriptions.

Excellent presentation and explanation. It helped me to know some unique road signs in the UK which are unfamiliar in North America. Road signs in Canada or in the USA are not such complicated. I was about to rent a vehicle during our last visit to the UK in 2018. But I subdued my temptation after seeing those zigzag markings which I couldn't understand. Hope to drive in the UK next time. You might find it useful to refer to the official standards, (i.e. traffic-signs-manual-chapter-05), which is available online in pdf form. Incidentally, note that all measurements are metric - only the speed limits mentioned are imperial.

I printed out pictures and I have it screenshot on my phone. I just look a few times in the day the best time to study them aswell is mid morning when your brain is alert. Don’t do these on an evening your brain goes to mush! The only ones I still sometimes struggle with is hazard warning lines when I’m on the road, she me the picture scale I’m fine, on an actual road I just think middle of the road normal markings lol You’ll get there keep at it!

Think of a solid line as a solid brick wall so you can’t go through it, whereas a broken line has gaps therefore you can pass through the ‘gaps’ if safe to do so.
