i always end up parallel parking by lining up mirror to mirror turning the wheel 1 time to the right back up slowly, then back 2 times to the left this way the wheels are facing left & slowly backing up until the car it straight

Yes your other hand should go behind the passengers seat when reversing

I took my test this same day but kept both hands on the wheel when reversing because you have better control of a vehicle with both hands. I passed 😅
