Thanks. Videos like this is interesting, since this is the only way for people, like me, to ever get to see what it's like in certain cities around the world. It's nice that you get to go for a drive like that. One thing I noticed from these videos is that I don't see any traffic lights. Just all stop signs. And as I typed that about the traffic lights, I realized, no sewer system for the streets, either. But, I'm sure they came up with something for the run off when it rains, or snow melts.

I think for me personally, why NU has never been inviting to me is the total absence of trees and bushes. Feels so desolate without them.
@amybluesky0072 жыл бұрын
It is all a matter of perspective, it must really feel like a desert of ice, frost and snow. Or desert land. But in "desolate" nature, sometimes you also find the warmest welcoming people. I don't know if it is the case in Iqaluit, provided that the Inuits population there have been colonized by the Canadians, but it looks nicer than what I thought.

Nice tour!! Now that the summer season has arrived, could you do a comparable tour of Iqaluit? The major investment in & completion of the new Iqaluit Airport terminal is a huge indicator of the positive direction of Iqaluit's future. Additional commercial & residential development is undoubtedly already in at least the planning stages. Will be interesting to watch this progress thru your videos.

This is where Annabella Piugattuk lives yet...I think, she the absolutely splendid actress in "The Snow Walker." (2003) I watch it every week I think. I cannot believe after her 20 year old, first time acting venture that Hollywood has not has not had Charles Martin Smith find another fine, fine story as the first one. I watched "Never Call Wolf" starring Charles the other night, then HAD TO watch the beautiful, very talented Annabella again. I like watching this stuff about Nunavut and I though Iqalut was small.

I'm really curious to know what their economy up there is based around. Iqaluit looks incredibly prosperous, especially compared to Arctic towns in Alaska like Nome or Utqiagvik which actually have a lot of economic activity based on natural resources like oil and precious metals. Is all of Iqaluit's wealth just based on government money, since Iqaluit is now the administrative center of Nunavut?
