Dr.Gill is such a huge avatar of ASMR. He is the paragon of relaxation in his natural demeanor. If he was the one who told me 6 years ago that i got an ewing sarcoma in my spine preventing me from walking, i would have been instantly set in a relaxed positive can do attitude. Back then i used humor as a coping mecanism and still do. If anyone is wondering im all good full remiscion and i got my legs back but i was worried for months at the time.

OK I need to say something. First of all, thank you for this video and for all your work, I like how you're always very didactic and professionnal. But I think you underestimate how important your work can be in other people's life ; I've suffered from chronical insomnias dues to an hormonal disfuction for years, leading to depression, with horrible episodes at night. So I usually watch ASMR and other videos to help me relax and try to actually "be myself" as you said ! One day I found out that clinical examinations really trigger me into relaxation but I always find them too "fake" or very non professionnal, until I watch one of your video. You genuelly made me very interested by medical examination (up to the point that I really memorised all the key steps just because I found it so fascinating) when I was trying to relax. Your videos were a refreshing moment of relief, for my brain of course, as I could focus on something, but at a more "spiritual" level too, because I would be so relaxed, that the night wasn't so frightening anymore. Thank you for that, and for all your work Dr. Gill, which is, as a The Man ones said it, brillant. Ps : sorry if my english is not perfect, I'm a little bit rusty.

More clinical examinations please dr Gill, I watch your videos every night just before I fall asleep in a fully asmr induced trance . Back when I was a child at school ( I’m 44 now) I first experienced this strange phenomenon, although I didn’t know what it was and I certainly didn’t tell anyone about it as it sounded too weird. The most memorable and the most euphoric experience is when a certain teacher leaned over my shoulder to help gently shade a drawing i’d been working on, at the same time almost whispering in my ear instructions on how best to add texture e.t.c. All I remember thinking was please don’t stop, I need this feeling to go on longer, my body was in a total state of relaxation almost paralysed with euphoria. For years I’d never met anyone who’d experienced such a thing, until one day when my then 8 year son came home from school and said ‘ dad I get this really weird feeling when I watch someone write something or draw , it feels really nice, and if I watch their face concentrating on doing it that makes the feeling even more nice’. I couldn’t believe it, so it could be hereditary? I’ve never actually looked that up ! Anyway now of course we have the internet and KZbin and now hundreds of asmr videos. I think it’s hard to get the full effect through a screen , yet some of the videos still have a nice relaxing feel to them . However your vids that fall into the unintentional asmr category are one of the closest I’ve got to feeling the full effect . Wow I was just supposed to be kindly asking to continue with the vids, ended up going on a bit. Thanks for the vids and keep up the good work 😁

@DrJamesGill4 жыл бұрын
you can't stretch an examination longer than it is. As something takes as long as it takes, but more importantly, then you are not being truthful to the patient. I'm certainly going to finish Three Men in A Boat, and then will see if there is interest in doing another. For me they are useful to do whilst waiting for people to be available for the various examinations
