It breaks my heart to hear her say "does this make sense?" She makes total sense, she just has had so much invalidation shoved at her. I hope the client in this video is doing better. Everyone participating in these videos are really brave, thank you for putting yourselves out there to help others.

I love being able to see EMDR done as I've recently gotten trained. I also think it's so interesting how it looks different from how its taught, which is likely because it is taught as a strict protocol yet clinicians with a lot of experience adapt it to their own style. For example, we were trained specifically to not give out the list of NCs. We also were taught to label the exercise "safe/calm STATE" and NOT "safe/calm PLACE".

Jamie, this is an amazing video. As a counselling student, this has given me many ideas of how to conduct and structure initial interviews. Thank you for sharing your skills.

Where can someone get this cognitive list

Orchard Valley Counselling Services Kelowna & Area Hello, there isn’t one set list but a series of them which are tailored to particular client groups or issues at hand. Here’s a few examples but if you look around the internet there is quite a lot available. There is also nothing stopping you from creating your own. Another technique is to have a person identify the 5 or 10 worst memories they have and apply the rating scale to those events as a means of identifying and prioritizing targets. www.goodmedicine.org.uk/files/ptsd,%20assessment,%20pcti.pdf emdrtherapyvolusia.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/NCQ.pdf www.scitechnol.com/peer-review/the-posttraumatic-cognitions-inventory-ptci--development-and-validation-of-a-shortened-military-version-based-on-a-sample-of-germa-tn6f.pdf

Is it typical to use EMDR as a treatment for people who eat too many carbs ?
@analbatross37654 жыл бұрын
It's really not about the carbs, its about dealing with the underlying trauma that creates disordered eating. If the disordered eating is a trauma response, then yes, EMDR is fair game

I get the causes can be different but still, modeling a smoking hypnotist? How is this a sensible case study?
