Aditi is a neglected housewife since Shree, her new husband travels extensively. Her only respite seems to be her music lessons. A mutual attraction springs up between her and Malhar Kamath, her music teacher. On one of Shree’s long trips abroad, Aditi gives in to her feelings of loneliness and in her desire for comfort, sleeps with Malhar. She subsequently gets pregnant, but in unable to tell her husband who the father is. However, twenty-five years later, it dawns on Shree that he may not be the father of the child after all and he confronts his wife about their son. Aditi chooses to confess the truth and finally walks out on him making herself a priority in her life.

Infidelity isn't the answer to any marital issues. The husband should empathise with the wife's emotional, physical and needs. The wife too empathise with the duties, the pressure of the working husband (if he's the sole breadwinner) and acknowledge the absence of her spouse in a long-distance relationship. Often, as most men are, the male assumes that his female partner will understand and change immediately. How? Why? Then where's the communication? Also, sex or physical proximity is a necessary ingredient in a relationship. Where was that? Often, the long absence of a spouse in the house, the partner on a tour(male/female)gives rise to short affairs, which may/may not result in a pregnancy. If there's a sudden and unexplained stoppage of sex by the husband citing a complete lack of interest, then what does the wife do??? Where will she go? Whom will she turn to? Vent it out on her child? Have several affairs without the knowledge of the child, husband and society at large? What'll the child do when he/she grows up and understands everything? Or will the husband/wife allow the other spouse to continue provided everything's discreet? Can anyone give a solution?

Great movie. Wonderful topic. Tabbu looks beautiful and intelligent. Her role is very sensitive but she plays it smartly. Sachin Khedekar in husband role looks as ordinary male dominant and selfish treating women as secondary. Sunil Barve looks handsome and beautiful. Ravindra Mankani looks great in supporting role. Smita Jaykar was beautiful and smart. Namrata Shirodkar looks dashing beautiful. Mohnish Bhel looked romantic. Great movie by Mahesh Manjrekar. Good music good job.

Misleading movie, trying to justify adultery. To make a soft corner for the cheating wife , here the husband is shown to have affair which is illogical. If the husband is so much busy that he can not give time to his own wife how can he have an affair. Even if the husband had any affair it can be compared with the betrayal of the wife, as he had to raise a child with all of his love-affection who is not his own blood. If she knew that Shree is impotent she could have told him to treat himself. So he may had his own child in time. In this movie the husband is blamed for the cheating of his wife as he was busy in his business. But all of those he was doing for his wife and children future. Any man would do. At last they used the matter of self-employment of women. To justify the cheating. Even if she had been an self reliant lady, her adultery is not justified. This story must be written the by any toxic pseudo feminist.

The film is interesting but one-sided. For 27 years husband never doubts his wife even though he was far from his wife for months together. He never doubted her even when she said she is pregnant. Still, he is shown in a negative way!!. Imagine yourself when you come to know that your son or daughter who you loved and cared for all these years is not your son or daughter. Imagine yourself when you come to know that the father you liked and loved for so many years is not your father. Or in a different way imagine yourself as a lady who was pregnant and taken to a hospital wherein your child is born dead and your husband who at the same time has another illegitimate child from another lady keeps his illegitimate child with you without your knowledge, and after 25 years you come to know that this child is not yours but of husband's girlfriend. What will be your reaction? Before marriage, you want a boy who earns more than you, who is taller than you, who is more educated than you, and still expect him to run behind you and stay with you all the time. Why don't you marry an unemployed man who is ready to cook and look after your house and stay in your parents' house?

This movie is logic less. 1) Husband is blamed for being busy in work . But why a man works hard and sacrifices his time with family?- To provide his wife and children a good life. If he can not he will be tagged as incompetent. 2) If he is so busy that he can not give time to his wife then how can he get involved in a extramarital affair? They inserted this contradictory plot to justify her cheating. 3) I don't support his justification for his affairs but he even had extra martial , her cheating is far more greater than his cheating. As he had raised a child as his own with his love, affection, struggle, wealth for a long time without knowing the reality. And he had been impotent, she should told him earlier. He could treat him and may have a child of his own. 4) If she conceived with Malhar then why didn't she went told Her husband at that time? She could have confessed, divorced and remarried Malhar. But she had no honesty, she could not leave Shree as he had a secured future. 5) In the climax they brought the concept of self employment of women which is totally irrelevant to the plot of adultery . Cheating is cheating whoever does, an earning or non earning person.
