Thanks for pushing me to get the gem tester a couple months ago. Bought 46 rings for $17 on eBay. Most were glass. But 2 tested diamond. Confirmed with jeweler that one is a little over a carat and has great clarity. One is 14k rose gold the other is 14k white gold. About fell over when the gem tester shot up to red and started beeping. Not bad for 37 cents for each ring!

This may not get any response but..... What do we, buyers and resellers, do when... We are smokers, or have pets (as an example), to keep said items, as clean and scent free as possible, on very limited funds? Buy items that smell bad and, airing out doesn't seem to help. Hello Dr. Lori, I recently came possession of an antique Japanese Satsuma tea set from the Meiji period. It is over 109 years old (that is the least it could be) and I looked on ebay for the going price of such a set. There was one that has less pieces than mine that is listed for 3500.00 more than mine and another one for 2000.00 more than mine. I have more pieces than both sets. Mine does have one repaired cup and two small chips. My set is beautiful, lots of gilded gold. I have had no offers and I have no watchers. Mine is from the exact same time period. Am I on the wrong site to sell such an antique?
