My condolences to Mary, Heather and the rest of the McDougall clan. Dr. McDougall will live forever in our hearts and minds. I've been a follower for many years now and have unfinished emails I've been thinking of sending to him; I had so many questions for him, I guess I won't get answers to them now but still am very grateful for all the information I got from him, THANK YOU Dr. McDougall! I know you will rest in peace because you've done so much for humanity. This video says Part 1, is there a follow up?

I have been reading the "McDougall Program for a Healthy Heart" during the last two weeks. What a wonderful read! Very well written, a pleasure to read! I dare say one of the best books I have read. Thank you SO much for this enlightening information!

Semi-retired airline pilot here. The decrease in air pressures is as follows. One atmosphere of pressure at sea level is 14.7 PSI. You have to go up to 18000 ft to get to 1/2 of an atmosphere, or 7.4 PSI. It's not much but going up to 9 or 10,000 ft. is less pressure, but only about three or four PSI at the most. Very little difference than sea pressure, but I believe those who are in less good health are more sensitive to it. 😉

Thank you for the good explanation of high blood pressure - not all that new for regular readers and viewers of your work like I but good to share; and for an informative hour. I look forward to more on blood pressure next week as promised. Belated best wishes for your birthday, Dr. McDougall. I had wished Mrs. McDougall on the birthday itself but since the live telecast reaches me in India several hours later those wishes must have reached the next day too. Heather McDougall i like your spectacles. I needed new ones and the man in the shop recommended by the doctor suggested a faux tortoise shell frame rather like yours. After trying out many different ones I thought that was the best and bought it but I think yours is much better. Dr. McDougall my compliments on your shirt, or should i say another smart shirt. In recent years I too have begun to wear colourful printed shirts. Enjoy selecting them - why not! Thanks for everything you do. Just gifted 'The starch solution' to someone... all should read, and heed, it.

It appears that blood pressure "standards" have been lowered, I assume, to increase sales of various blood pressure medications. If you update your research data about starch, that type diet is a significant cause of metabolic disease, leading to diabetes & heart disease.

This winter I started to use a pharmaceutical inhaler for breathing problems. The inhaler has caused my blood pressure to go from 120 to 186. I refuse to go to a doctor so I research youtube for help. I am 83 yrs old active and spunky, no doctors, no meds up until lately. My breathing issues have been eased by herbs and fresh garden foods and by limiting dairy and meats) since birth mis diagnosed as lung problem but broncial congestion caused by post nasal drip which was caused by acid reflux which was caused by the lifetime midnight feeding tradition! Lately I've been making ghee and milk keifer which I really enjoy but I wonder if it is hazardous to my post nasal drip problem? And messing-up my arteries? How do I prevent damage artery, heart and brain damage due to my efforts to breathe?
@kathym93226 ай бұрын
I think the Dr discourages dairy which woukd include ghee.
@optimaldietcoach17056 ай бұрын
Yikes, I would get off the dairy immediately if I were you! That certainly causes problems with breathing and contributes to asthma.
