I bought 2 s8s and 2 OtterBoxes over a year ago, last Aug. '17 and haven't had any problems with either of them. In fact they were the first galaxies to offer quite a bit of new, better , and/or different features and options. I have had older ones from the s3, note 4, etc. It's been dropped, thrown, etc. And even without OtterBox including a screen protector with this model's defender case, I don't even have any scratches on it. It has held it's worth in more ways than I can count and held it's price value months longer than the s9 . I have friends that bought the iPhone 7 around the same time and had cracks, impaired screen visibility, etc. within a cpl mos. Them being die hard apple users began changing their minds quickly. I'm not an easy sell but do feel the s8 is a great phone and was worth purchasing. I am watching newer models and devices don't get me wrong, but am comfortable for now and will continue to compare and possibly upgrade after the holidays.

i have been an apple fan boy since the iphone 3gs. ive had a few samsungs, s5, s7, s7 edge and they all bit the dust meaning i went back to the iphone, after seeing the iphone x i decided i wanted the s8. i still feel like going back to my iphone 7 purely for imessage, but man oh man is the s8 a beautiful phone. it is drop dead sexy and if anyone wants to make the change i recommend it! you will not be disappointed! the amoled display is completely flawless, the design is amazing and its so easy to use compared to older models! love it!

The Device Maintenance option is not on the Verizon S8 and S8+. On screenshots, you can use Softkey edge to do screenshots, it's an option for the edge menu.

I was the same way literally just one week ago and I was Ganna wait for the iphone8 to come out but I gave up on apple. They take there customers for granted a lot they have always been behind Samsung in the specs and getting the new and best technology. Apple never gives big upgrades every year they make new phones because they know there Ganna sell regardless if ppl like them or not because its apple. Samsung on the other hand always does new things with there phones. I got the s8plus about a week ago and man is it great. Dont wait for the iphone 8 just go for the s8. The iphone 8 is basically just the catch up phone to get on Samsung's level.

Honestly why is the "missing" app drawer a big deal? 1. You can enable it if it's sooooo important to you. 2. It's one less button at the bottom of the screen and it's really cool swiping up (or down) for the apps pages. Am I the only one that actually finds it really cool?

Thank you very much for the video, it's very informative and in depth. I know exactly how I'll set my phone up when it comes Tuesday now. I noticed in one of the menu's there is an SOS Message feature.. Would you be able to make a short video on that? I ask this, as my phone is pretty much my lifeline. I suffer with mental health issues and seizures, for crisis I have my crisis number set up for example, but if that SOS Message feature has some sort of advanced functionality, it would be great to detect when I have a seizure and send a message to an emergency contact telling them that I'm having one and where I am using the phones location. That could be an essential feature to use if it could do the above or more, I'm not sure how the phone would detect it anything like that or possibly drops/peaks in blood pressure, but it's a feature that could potentially save a life. Thank you again for the review and setup, that's great :)

Amazing video and thank you so much for all the tips. This really helped a lot. Was hoping someone can give me some advice on 3 things I'm struggling with.... 1. While my phone is on vibrate, all notification messages that come through will still make a sound. This was not the case with my other galaxy. When I put the phone on vibrate, all notifications will just vibrate as well. Is there a setting that needs to be changed? 2. I use to receive push notifications from Yahoo to verify if it's me that's logging into my account from another device. With the new phone, the messages are still being sent to my old phone. How do I change this to my new S8? 3. In my gallery, I see that the "Photo Editor Pro" is now hidden. Is there a way to change the settings so it always opens with "Photo Editor Pro" instead of selecting it every time? Appreciate any help

With the latest update I had, there's only a fixed number of colours for the navigation bar background. Only a few light shades. However, you can make the nav bar background colour to your selected theme

Any tips on how to turn the PIN off, without doing factory Reset? For some reason my old PIN has changed, meaning the only way i can unlock my phone is using fingerprint scanner. Have tried to enter security settings but it requires the PIN to deactivate, also tried the "Find My Phone" to unlock via Samsung website but sadly didn't have "Remote Unlock" option enabled in security settings and now to turn that on means i need to enter the PIN.

Geller Price Book Videos When you have ALWAYS ON DISPLAY, the hour moves around just to fix that burnt in problem, it doesn't use the same pixels in a long time, it keeps changing place... So it's totally safe :)

Always update it, because with the updates come new features and also some functions of your phone may not work if you don't update it frequently. As a proof of what I just said, when your phone gets old, Samsung will stop sending you the updates, so you'll have to buy a new phone.

At 12:28 he stops at "Smart alert".. but the very next one is very important! thank fuck I became aware of it. It's "Easy mute". (Where if you put the phone face down.. that means you won't get any calls or alarms). Which I do all the time.. but I still want my calls and alarms to wake me up in the morning lol. That would have been terrible. I did indeed turn that feature off.
