So heartbreaking to see this. I'm in Bayshore Gardens not too far away. I think we take things like the beaches for granted. We think they will always be there. I truly feel for the people living out there. I am sad to see my happy place in such distress. As a community we should do our part anyway we can.

We’ve had 8 inches of sea level rise since the sixties, living on barrier islands is unsustainable and no “new” building permits should be allowed. It has to stop and will stop whether we wish it so or not.

Everything is torn up all along tge Gulf of Mexico!! NW Bradenton got hit hard too with Milton! Iver a week, people still need power, drug stores dont have Internet to get our medications, have to pay cash at most stores due to no internet services . Supplies short, its still very messy here.... The island is not ready and needs inspections before anyone can live or visit, there are curfews. Its really unbelievable whats happened ...

Any chance you can fly over the north end of the island. Specifically, the beach area around the baptist church. Beach and Park street. Used to live there before they put all the new builds there.

Laura they're still there we just need to clean up. Not me personally. I work full-time up here to pay bills. But I'd never move to Florida but I'll vacation there and help keep people employed. I vacation in treasure island but they'll rebuild too. Those who care will get up off their tails and help. America wasn't built on watching tv & smartphones
