You can get everything you need for a decent racer for about $500. These guys probably have set ups that cost closer to $2000 though.

+Isaac Davis I don't know what you're adding up if you're paying $2k for a DYI 250mm racer. I mean, you can get a TBS Vendetta with a Taranis+receiver+Fatshark Goggles+vTX+batteries+charger, all for $1300. Usually you don't count many of those (transmitter, goggles, charger can be $600-2k+ alone) as part of the "build".

2 things in mind to pump up the drama - explosive and/or smoke effect for when the drone crash. - laser tag with *x* amount ammo which drop drones max output power to *y* for *z* second if hit (+ smoke effect).

Intense! I think they should add more lights to the drones, perhaps on top of the props, so we can get a better feel of orientation instead of just seeing a streak of light zipping around. It will help tricky maneuvers stand out more to the viewers.

Awesome! I really love this! But I agree with the others, it's very short. You need to show full length videos showing all the heats. I think it would be a good idea to make each race longer as well, you can do this buy having pitstops, like in F1, where either the whole drone can be swapped out or just swap out the battery. Also, each racer can have 3-5 drones per race, and if the crash, then they can start from the pitstop with a new drone. This will add great excitement with comebacks being possible and give a kind of "lives" video game feel to the sport, while allowing each race to last for 30 min/1 hour? This will also allow you to do away with the confusing points system, as it can be all about who gets the furthest/crosses the line first.

Aren't the bright led strips leading to overexposure ? I don't know how the fpv cam handles it but if it's similar to what we see with the HD footage then it probably hinders the pilots of flying as precisely as they would without so much brightness. Especially at the "tunnels" when they go from the out to the inside.
