THANK YOU Eddie. I was there in 2013 and see so many familiar memories. I had a different kind of burn though. My friends had convinced me that everything was simple since they had a large motor home and were part of a big ORGANIZED camp. You don't NEED to bring anything but but your clothes. However your part will be to build a BAR and stock it for our camp. Which I DID. What I did not expect was that the husband would unwittingly teach me Radical Self Reliance. Although they had been going the previous 3 years, he got highly agitated the 1st night about pressures being put on him by his position in the camp hierarchy that had volunteered for. 6am on the 2nd morning he woke me up and said "Get the hell out of my motorhome! I HATE Burning Man and I am leaving". WHICH THEY DID! As it was THEIR vehicle I saw little choice. I had been three less that 36 hours and ended up marooned on the Playa. I had little more than my clothes, one of my 5 gal jug of water, a box of miscellaneous snacks, 1 of my 10 gallons of Tequila, a sleeping bag . WORSE, was I had the 8 foot bar I had built that would have to get OFF the Playa WITH me. I was depressed. HOWEVER The Playa provides and our camp full of mostly strangers to me took me in and the burn worked out.. They returned a day later with tearful apologies and I with .heightened sense of awareness.

That's an experience that I'm sure you'll never forget. I've heard handfuls of stories of people just showing up with little more than the clothes on their back and throwing themselves into the great unknown. You are right, the playa provides. Sometimes that's a generous drink, an old dusty couch to crash on or a freshly minted grilled cheese sandwich. Sometimes it's a swift kick in the ass! Whatever it is, you probably deserved it. Never forget, bianca loves you.

Hi Herb. Burning Man is not for everyone my friend, but you are very correct that it is an alternative, artistic, new-age festival like none other. So live and let live, OK, and enjoy the peace, simple wonders and freedoms of your life experiences and society you live. No need to hate, be divisive and show your extremist side. There is too much abrasive polarity and 'us vs them' judgement of others in the world... Have a good one.

Simply amazing, that you found a day with no wind. I'm trying to remember no wind, but it fails me...lolol. Good footage, and excellent editing job. In fact, there are police all throughout the event, and they overwhelmingly cooperate with the festival goers. In fact, Burning Man is actually highly sought out for many law enforcement personnel who travel from all over the country specifically to oversee the event. Actually, this year on thursday multiple dozens of police vehicles all held a procession to the temple to honor an officer who passed away this year, who loved working, as well as attending, the burn.

There were evidently 124 registered drones at BM this year ranging in size from 2 to 10 feet in diameter...according to the people offering skydivers and passenger rides at 5:00 and I-ish...10 times more than last year and a bit of a danger for the skydivers, but oh, what a wonderful view...brought back great memories.

I'm tempted to quip "Where's Cartman and Cthulu when you need them?" Seriously, interesting video, but I'm baffled at the appeal of "radical" self sufficiency (I got all I ever needed of that "camping" in the Army).

Could be... I've seen a lot of sort of "superstitious" arguments about what causes the jello effect (electromagnetic interference, blade wobble, prop balance, fast harmonic directional corrections, motors not spinning perfectly proportionally, frame rate)... At any rate, beautiful work, great subject... I *love* this perspective on the Man, and your editing. Hope to see more!

"Burning Man" is a gathering of Artists and all are welcome to attend. It is a week long event in the middle of the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. There are no vendors, and no selling of any kind. All you have is what you pack in and can barter for. It is a place of peace and party. A place to unwind and let go of your inhibitions. To get out of the "norm" and into the new.
