Most older facilities are grandfathered on certain fire safety systems. It sad that a Church has to suffer, however they cut costs by not completing/installing the same level of fire retention systems in the older statuary as their new facilities. What's worse is, that's the portion of the facility that needed it most. This happens quite a bit in industrial facilities. Companies will only meet the bare minimum of code compliance. This is why its imperative that OSHA is sustained or maybe even strengthened and you have a competent EHS person on site.

@jasonlewis53503 ай бұрын
That would be true. The rest of the world should also stop human trafficking, rape, pornography of either adults or children, adultery, pedophilia and other things that occur on a daily basis too, but they seem to overlook their own issues and focus on isolated cases within the church. Why do you think that is?

The katholic Church has been torturing me since I am a child.
@jasonlewis53503 ай бұрын
@@ambrosdetudor7918 I’m truly sorry to hear that. I have a friend who has been like a brother for nearly 25 years and he was badly abused by the Catholic school that he attended. His mother told me they basically tortured him as well. Their is no justification for child abuse whatsoever. I want you to know that this is not not taught in the Bible either. In fact, Jesus Himself stated: Matthew 18:6 (CSB) “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to fall away -- it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea. The Greek word for fall away is skandalizō. It’s where we get the word “scandal” from. It means to stumble or fall away from an authority that you should be able to trust. In other words, Jesus was saying that if anyone harmed a child and they lost their trust in Him, then it would be better for the perpetrator to hang a millstone around his neck and drown in the sea. A millstone could weigh between 100 - 3,000 pounds. Jesus said heavy millstone so I’m guessing He was referring to the larger ones. The point is that Christians are supposed to follow Jesus Christ. The abuse comes from people who don’t follow Jesus and that make’s Christ, Christians and Catholics to look evil. There is no justification and no command in the Bible to harm anyone especially kids. The punishment is greater than a 1,000 lb weight around their neck and drowning in the bottom of the sea. It’s called Hell. Eternal damnation awaits anyone who harms children. It’s not your fault that this happened and you are not guilty of anything. I hope that you are able to heal and find peace in knowing that you are not alone and not to blame. Thank you for sharing this information and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, The emblem of suff’ring and shame; And I love that old cross where the Dearest and Best For a world of lost sinners was slain. Refrain: So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it someday for a crown. Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world, Has a wondrous attraction for me; For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above To bear it to dark Calvary. In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, A wondrous beauty I see, For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, To pardon and sanctify me. To the old rugged cross I will ever be true; Its shame and reproach gladly bear; Then He’ll call me someday to my home far away, Where His glory forever I’ll share.

The old sanctuary is going to be rebuilt. The landmark will remain.
@MarkLewis-l3f3 ай бұрын
Interesting point. As an old stately landmark that housed a few vacation bible school classes it was functionally useless to a church that is fabulously wealthy & owns several square blocks of prime surrounding real estate. Insurance paid off handsomely no doubt. Now they can put something else there that can make a profit...maybe a MAGA hotel for visiting billionaires with a heliport so the faithful of the donor class can be there in minutes instead of having to fight traffic from the airport when seeking to "bless" pastor Robert Jeffress.
@fabergeartist52733 ай бұрын
@@MarkLewis-l3f no, as I said, they are going to rebuild the landmark. It has great significance and the church and the Pastor are heartbroken about the fire. They are going to salvage the three walls still standing and go from there. The old sanctuary was not “useless”, as you said. The contemporary service was held there every week and the museum, offices and archives were in the basement. It was far from “useless”. And it was a state historic landmark that deserves to be preserved as much as possible.
@MarkLewis-l3f3 ай бұрын
@@fabergeartist5273 They built a brand new sanctuary a few feet away, so I doubt they are holding their regular worship services there with a 3,000 seat gleaming new one a 2 minute walk from there. By definition, "useless" implies something that has no purpose, so i suppose we could say it was almost useless instead. Offices can be housed anywhere, & this church owns tens of millions of dollars or the surrounding property covering several square blocks of incredibly valuable real estate. I doubt the building was worth what they were insuring it for in terms of its utilitarian value, but i bet the insurance payoff will ease the pain of losing a museum.... TWO THOUSAND black church were burned to the ground from 1995-2005.....actual places where people met to worship, not offices & museum facilities. I never heard a single peep out of the press over that. But one rich white megachurch that worships Donald Trump has an office building go up in smoke & grieving, hand wringing people come out of the woodwork claiming "Satan" set the fire.
