What a epic story about the drone and credit to the technology in the drone, that was amazing. My wife lost her drone and it was because the plug had come out of the phone in the controller and the drone just ran out of battery before it could get home.

I hear the electricity transmission and gas mining companies regularly lose drones to eagles while inspecting their power lines and gas wells.

no definitely have not started or landed in NP. Mind you, don’t get me started with that BS. For instance, you can’t fly a drone around Ayers Rock but National Parks can send 1000 drones up for a light show. I'm a big fan of courtesy, common sense, and the freedom to take images or videos of our remote and beautiful landscape as long I don't endanger or annoy anyone.

Just watched the whole series mate , awesome trip and videos, great tracks and camps. Wow so lucky with the drone that’s my greatest fear as i probably couldn’t afford a replacement. yes mate transmission turned slightly and hit crossmember in first gear on extrem steep hills. Spacers in place now

Great video Stephen, glad you got the drone back. I think your biggest challenge is you just have too much experience to make the dumb mistakes that some of the rest of us still make, that occasionally make for 'good' or 'exciting' content. Love your work though and your video on the various types of lockers is the best I've seen and was very helpful for my next build. That footage of the wedgies was amazing, some wildlife guys would probably pay you for that :-) Keep up the good work mate I'm sure you'll be at 80k subscribers before you know it.

Don't worry I still make mistakes but having a risk management background of over 30 years, the mistakes so far have fortunately been minor ones or I have been lucky leaving the car in neutral with a Toyota Handbreak lol. I still keep learning new stuff on every trip and hope it will continue.

Hey Stephan is the reason you rate the GME more important than a sat phone because you could be disabled in an accident and unable to operate a phone or it is more likely to be packed away and out of reach?

Satphone can have empty batteries, are easier to break, are more complicated to operate, have less battery time, and won't continue sending location for hours, to name a few reasons

That fly is a Scaptia, or March fly. There are numerous colours of these pesky blood suckers. I have never seen this one in the wild, only the possibly more common smaller ones.

Love your channel but I hate drones. Too many times I've been unwinding in the bush then... BZZZZZZZZZZZ ruins everything. Sounds like a massive swarm of Euro wasps on steroids. I'll be happy when someone invents a quiet drone but until then I'll keep using my methods to stop them flying. Sorry.
