Panvel Karjat Rail Line | August ' 2024 Update | Panvel To Karjat New Rail Line Progress

This double line corridor will enable running of suburban services providing alternate route from the main island city of Mumbai to Karjat via Panvel. Also This Project will be very helpful for urbanisation of the areas between Panvel and Karjat. There will be total 5 stations in between Panvel and Karjat. As Govt. claims the project deadline is 2025 End, in this video you will see the ground update of this project.

Eagerly waiting for this project, Currently it takes almost 1 hour to reach panvel station from chowk by road during peak hours. After its completion it will take max 20-25 minutes

Somehow we need to do lot more to protect the matheran hill range. It's a unique north south range running from mallamgad to irsalgad, unfortunately JNPT project and this railway Will help aggravate the development near these highly sensitive region

YES,, it's 2 new line which is under progress. Currently there is only a single line available which is used for only express trains,, but after this new lines Local EMU's will run in between Panvel and Karjat

With so many flyovers , these new tracks will not be suitable for outstation trains. That is maybe why existing track is kept as it is , to be used for out station trains, currently only a few trains do use that corridor but it bypasses Kalyan station . By making thane the main station instead of Kalyan, this problem can be resolved and more trains can be used via that corridor.

Great info. Still development works seems slow. Not because rainy season, but otherwise also Suburban station must be development next to existing old Karjat station only. Because people who want to catch any Express train from Karjat will have go from Panvel to Karjat from Navi Mumbai area, than they have to give heavy charges to Autos to reach to Old Karjat station which will be very tedious. Distant between two station seems at least 2KM. Such location auto doesn't work on meter. Panvel being city, but autos are not operating on meter. Auto drivers are charging exorbitant charges. Even though having most of autos are on CNG. Railway should have planned Karjat suburban station development considering the convenient of passengers along with old station only.
