While I generally appreciate your work, I do wish you'd rethink these things just a bit. Specifically, try editing out some of the utterly pointless "friendly" banter. It's just not useful and it makes me hesitant to watch one of your videos knowing that around 85% of it will be off topic and a waste of time. Again, just a humble suggestion for your consideration.

I agree. They put more time into advertising the training than researching the P4P V2 for exact differences. Paul didn't even know the correct price. It sounded like he had never flown one either. I would bet money on that. No mention of Intelligent Flight controller compatibility either, since it's OcuSync2. No research.

For what its worth, there are a few differences in the P4P v2 that aren't in the P4P v1 that they don't mention. V2 supports ocusync, V1has lightbridge. V2 is quieter than the V1. V2 uses the newer props much more efficiently. V2 has a vent and a fan built into the controller because the signal (ocusync) needs more power to transmit. They both have the exact same camera. Same batteries, same power charger and can both shoot 4k60. I sold my P4P v1 recently and seriously considering getting the V2. I'm wondering if just the noise reduction is worth it.

Finally someone picked up on the transmission types!

I spent this summer doing cell towers with my V1. On some of them I didn't have any trouble but on some I had a lot of serious trouble with signal interruption. I couldn't at times control the Drone, couldn't see the video feed, had the thing disconnecting and trying to return home in the middle of the job. it was a total pia. Guys that have the V2 say it's a lot better.

Really? You didn't research the two craft differences before answering the question? Have you ever flown the P4P V2? Doesn't sound like it. BYI, the P4P V2 is $1599 in the DJI website today, March 5th, 2020. Did you even look? With all due respect Paul, you shouldn't be answering a question without knowing the correct answers. BTW, P4A sucked for range just like the P4, because is used the same low output (control signal) GL300C controller. The only way to get the standard 3mi range from those craft was either an antenna upgrade, or using the GL658A Inspire controller with the P4 craft.

I have a P4A+ and I get better range with the Pro plus controller than the standard one. I think there’s something to be said for the lack of 5.8 gigahertz band but overall with the same camera and flight characteristics if you can get one cheap it’s the way to go.

This podcast was completely pointless. So little info provided & the questions called in were not even answered. It really seems like you both have either not flown the v2 or know very little about it. Jeeez

I was a VO at a hospital mapping, and a V2 was having control problems and not flying well; so he switched back to the older P4P.

I have a rather specific question, I’m wanting to buy a drone that allows me to take detailed pictures of mold and mildew on roofs for clients but I need it to allow 2 devices on live feed, 1 for controller and one to show clients so they aren’t over my shoulder! Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Question of the day is Dji the only company capable and willing to work with FAA to be able to implement a sensible Remote ID and be able to upgrade our present drones like the Phantom and mavic 2 plus all the commercial drones so they will comply with FAA rules or will we use them for paper weights ? I personally don’t want to purchase a drone right now and it be unusable in couple years 🤨🤔 Thanks guys
@Siamect4 жыл бұрын
It's probably so that FAA is the only organization that is willing to work with DJI... Seems to me like FAA is doing exactly what DJI want them to do :) But I would not buy a drone where the manufacturer are forcing firmware update because you may end up with a drone that IS complying with FAA's crazy regulations which basically will remove every kind of drone related freedoms that you were born with. It is much better to get a drone with an open source flight controller firmware which let you be the one in charge. The only drawback is that you will be arrested from time to time but that will probably happen regardless if you fly a drone or not....
@TomSpurlock4 жыл бұрын
There will be no upgrades to old drones to be compatible with the new rules that are suppose to take affect in 3yrs. If the new regulations pass as written today, you will be a rebel, flying without ID support. But don't worry, there will be thousands of other drone owners flying illegally too. This is a ridiculous situation the FAA is creating.
@Siamect4 жыл бұрын
@@TomSpurlock And you are soo sure about that (no upgrades) when FAA themselves has no clue what's going to happen!

6:26 Quote, "I'm not really sure there is too much difference without really researching" WTF! Why would you do a video let alone "advise" someone without doing the research?! I don't get it. Where you just wanting to produce some content for the sake of content or do you really want to provide factual information?
