Hey I love what you do and am impressed with your being thorough in testing the knives. Plus you have knives others don't and test all of them.

I like that you also said it would make a good fighting knife and moves well in the hand. 😊 I've seen all type of testing with that blade ,but and as a Survival Implement it lives up to it's name. Thanks Charles 😄

Yeah they are. I was intrigued by the hunter, but when they came out with a series, I had to start getting and trying them.

Good information about those two Bladez Charles, I hope to get the Gen 2 but if there's still some Gen 1 available, I will probably get one of each ⚖️💯🦈💯⚖️

looks like a beast of a knife, very nice

The gen 1, the silver on is beyond a beast of a knife. It qualifies as a tank!

Yes they are. I thought the first one was good but the second gen is near perfect in size weight and balance.

I have the Gen 2 DF Survivalist and it’s in my top 3 favourites, it’s just so good. I’ve wanted the Gen 1 model to have them as a pair in my collection, but with a concern of what to do with that very thin handle. I’ve considered trying a paracord wrap with some filler material in the scallop of the handle. The lanyard tube at the pommel end could serve as a strong captive point to keep the cord in place. The Gen 1 is becoming harder to find, so I’ll have to decide soon.
@charlesjonestherednecknerd Жыл бұрын
Yeah the gen 1 seems stronger but the handle must be worked around. Good luck in your hunt for it and fix!

I just bought the 2nd generation version. I’m waiting for it to arrive.

I love mine, though the gen 1 is stouter and heavier.

I have the gen 2 version. Pretty awesome knife.
@charlesjonestherednecknerd Жыл бұрын
Yeah the 1st is sturdier but the 2nd is far more wieldable.

My second second generation is a full quarter inch thick it Mus be luck of the draw my first one was just a millimetre shy my Son Nathan couldn't wait to inherit it I gave it to him because he bought me a new rear white wall tire for my Evo Heritage I bought the front one because it needed a new tire and the back could wait a season but because he wanted me to have matching tires the rear was black he spent $200 and bought me a new one so I let him have my survivalist and it took me about 6 months to save up and get another one and its a full 1/4 inch his isn't . lol so I guess it turned out good for me new white walls on my Harley ...
@motorcyclemark288910 ай бұрын
Its 6 mil. Thick I just measured in millimeters
@charlesjonestherednecknerd10 ай бұрын
It could be luck of the draw. Strange for production pieces.

i modify most of my knives so they are right for me

I feel this is the best thing to do is make the knife your own.

I truly appreciated you stating the facts of the differences in both versions. Thank you ! Which one would you suggest to get ?
@charlesjonestherednecknerd Жыл бұрын
I would get the second generation. The balance is better, better ergos. The slight difference in thickness should not in normal use matter.
