Been fishing since I was a lad, nearly 70 now and I thought I had seen everything but I picked up a couple of good tips here. Screwing in the spinner blade into a jig. Also leaving the wiggly tail jig on the bottom and waiting a while. Thanks for this video Steve. Enjoyed it.

Great Steve, learned so much, love you jokes, any tips on handling and unhooking pike, still nervous about it, ie chinning them, many thanks.
@brianr95295 жыл бұрын
Lay the fish between your legs, this stops it flapping about. Use a net, the amount of people I've seen get hooks in them from chinning a pike and it kicks and the hook that's free gets embedded in your hand. Get the fish between your legs and slip your fingers under the gill slit and forward until you feel the bone, pull gently down and its mouth should open. Don't touch the Gill rakers, carefully grab the hook with long forceps and twist to remove. Be careful not to damage its gills or it will bleed to death. Give the fish time to recover and swim off. This takes much longer in summer. Hope this helps.

Steve, question: what do you mean with "leave it on the hang"?. To leave the jig/lure on the bottom, or to leave it hanging free from the bottom? I'm sorry, English isn't my first language, so I don't master English fishing lingo... Thanks in advance!

I don’t understand the titanium trace, to floro line, to then braided line? Why not just use a floro leader and scrap the titanium trace?
@Duk3Nuk3m859 жыл бұрын
do you use the FC above the leader for less line breaks?
@nickmarlow20769 жыл бұрын
+Ronny Enqvist It's for two reasons - to offer a little bit of stretch in the set up, and more importantly when the knot hits the tip ring Steve knows that there is the perfect amount of line out to net the fish.
