I love these guys. I saw them a week before Going Out in Style came out, and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. It was a small venue in Chicago that was filthy inside, but my god was that a fun night. Beer was flying the entire show and although I didn't drink I came home smelling like beer. These guys are great. They're such bros.

About 10 years ago as a 16 year old I saw Murphys play a small club in my town. I got up onstage at the end, busted a rib, was accidentally punched in the face by my own friend in the pit, and fell down with everyone on broken glass at the end of Barroom Hero. I managed to snag the set list and get Ken to sign it for me afterwards outside the venue, to which I obviously said “Thanks man that was the greatest fucking show I’ve ever seen.” His response “You oughta get out maw.” I fucking love these dudes even if I don’t listen to the new stuff as much. You can tell they have so much heart.

Fun TRUE story My local record store is owned by Als best friend and I was in one day and he came in and they started doing some business and I'm thinking to myself "Christ he looks familiar but who the hell is he?" and after they do their stuff maybe ten fifteen minutes he says "Al can you sign this stuff?" and I immediately went "HOLY SHIT that's fucking AL BARR!" and I went up to him and I said "Dude! Your Al Barr!" and looks up smiles and goes "Yeah last time I checked." I'm like damn man Als got jokes and I asked him if we could take a picture and he said sure but only if I didn't sell it for Leftwing propaganda and I told him it was to make my buddy jealous and he smiled and said absolutely let me finish signing this stuff up.
