I adore QR, at least their Metal stuff 'till Empire (which is popy a bit!) but from the judgment of the system (then) on Operation:Mindcrime to the other way around of the American Soldier CD, well, there's a huge idealogical gap! Let's be honest: QR's last miracle was Empire! Promised..., Hear..., Q2K, Tribe, O:M II, American Soldier, all are from low to simply mediocre efforts!

@tc68bird5 жыл бұрын
I guess I'm the only one who thought MindCrime II was killer. I thoroughly enjoyed that record, though it would definitely have been better if they could have lured DeGarmo back for it! Of the loss between Tate and DeGarmo, DeGarmo was the the biggest hit to the music, considering Todd la Torre has filled in exceptionally well for Tate!
@keafoleafo83685 жыл бұрын
The problem with Mindcrime II is that it wouldn't have mattered, because only about 15% of the album is anyone else in the band (not including Geoff Tate). Geoff basically started trying to replace the band without kicking any of them out.

It's not really a Queensryche album to me, and it doesn't deserve the name of Operation: Mindcrime II! The album is written only by Tate, Mike Stone and some other outside writers, some of Eddie's basslines were re-recorded, Whip hardly received songwriting credit and Scott didn't even perform on that album.

@victimology77615 жыл бұрын
Wilton meant after things blew apart for Queensryche in South America (the spitting incident), the band was taking most of the year off to cool their jets. That is when Todd mentioned his uncanny ability to mimic Tate. During the hiatus, they played 2 Rising West shows to test fan reaction, and when it was positive, they pulled the trigger.

And the intro of Parker Lundgren was refreshing and his skills are sharp on his 3 octives Caparison Orbit guitar (27 frets). Great line-up. Great show. Been there and going again March 21.
