The moment where Hangman starts walking back down the ramp at the end of the cage match was beautiful. Hanger's quivering lip, the look of slight concern on his face, the horrified gasp from the crowd. I find that the word cinema is thrown around too often these days, but there's no better word to describe that ending. 10/10 feud and 10/10 video.

This is a feud of a lifetime. A story of a good man turning into complete maniac to take down the evil. In front of that insanity even the evil that invaded him looks pale. This is also a story of an underdog antagonist who wanted to take down the so called 'privileged protagonist' and expose their real image. And in that journey he leaves no stone unturned making the 'privileged one' hungry for his blood. So hungry that he descents down to hell turning into a madman. There is no hero in this story. Both are evil. Both dug each other's graves.

"It could have been anybody, it just happened to be you," Such a small line really embodies the feud. Swerve did the things he did to get into Hangman's head and push himself up the card; it was all business. But for Hangman, every insult and attack was personal, and it eventually twisted him into the monster he believed Swerve to be. And ironically now that Swerve has had a taste of the high life, he's mellowed out in a similar way he accused Hangman of doing way back in their first promo. Masterful character arcs.

I never noticed as it was unfolding how the promotion itself started moving around Hangman and Swerve once they went for Joe. This definitely has become AEW's best feud, it's insane that they found a way to top the Punk v MJF one. And even the crowd reactions played so wonderfully into it. Like the audible gasp from the crowd and that one lady screaming just by having Hangman turn around during his moment of what might have been remorse. I could ramble way too much about this feud and how much I love it.

2:07 Swerves first promo on Hangman at the beginning of their feud, is by far his best work on the mic. Everything from Swerve that night was on point. It was the first dynamite after he got put into a coffin at All In. When he walked out, he just had this scowl on his face that he hadn’t shown before. Usually he’d be smiling showing his gold grill walking down the ramp. The way his eyes were set on Hanger was just perfect. I’m upset Drop didn’t include the walk out, but I assume it was due to audio.

It's like drinking Swerve's blood corrupted Hangman. It's an interesting detail (to me anyway), but Hangman's mustache becomes thicker as the double turn happens, much like the villains in cowboy movies, instead of the more traditionally clean shaven protagonists. I like the concept of "home" being so central to this feud. They say you "can always go home," but Hangman's no longer feels safe, and Swerve's no longer exists. There's something inherently destabilizing to a person when they don't have what would be considered a home. "Home" implies safety. Comfort. Neither will ever feel that type of comfort again. Beautifully told story. Edit: This is my fourth time watching this, and I'm still noticing tiny, nuanced details they put into this.
