i like Goh but i don't think he should be the main protagonist. i really wish ash had a starter plus feel like he doesn't need grokey because sobble is so under devolved and adding another starter will just make the problem worst with the focus on his pokemon. i wouldn't mind if ash left the anime after gen 8 anime but goh wouldn't be a good replacement. maybe a older bonnie or ash's kid or a new trainer because i do feel like ash should be apart of the anime forever because he keeps resetting it's only a matter of time till they pull a black and white reset with ash if he stays in the anime and to me that does a deservers to him plus it would be nice giving him a ending

The thing i always dislike about the pokemon journeys *Ash is now champion*: They bearly go anywhere with it and no one at all acknowledge him as a champion not even in the sun and moon ep with no growth from previous generations. They could make it where people are more respectful of Ash and treats him in high regards so when he does get defeated it hurts his self esteem more harshly especially with people looking up to him *Ash's growth*: In XYZ he seemed older, he understands his strengths and weakness. In journy's they make him to much of a kid that goofs around instead of training up to beat the championship rank battles. If you compare gen 1 through 6 Ash you would think Journey's Ash was a younger Ash. All they littery need to do is have him be 2 to 4 more years older and be a mentor to Goh that way he aint to old or to young. *Rank Battles*: The battles we do see feel random and not connected with episode plot. The characters would do one thing then oop quick battle time with a quick Ash victory. They need to dedicate more rank battles as if they were gym eps like with Surge *The lack of going on an actual Pokemon journey*: Im sure as new eps come they will go on an actual journey but its like for me its alittle too late. They should of had him explore each reigion for a couple of eps each month meeting previous companions and pokemon and have it be done much earlier. Make Goh and Chloe travel with ash and grow their friendship from there *Goh:* I like the dude but man alot of catches he did not deserved at all such as pretty much all of them. He doesnt put much effort in catching at all and the one he does such as Suicune he simply sets him in a dome and does nothing with him and leaves him as if he never caught it. Ash has cared for many pokemon and legendarise and we don't see him catch any of them. N would hate Goh with a passion. Lastly Goh always takes spotlight from Ash even in a Ash base ep such as a recent ep with Far-fetched Goh gets a powerhouse scissor. Simple fix Nerf Goh and have more Ash episodes with just Ash or maybe a Ash and Chloe *The use of Chloe*: Pretty sure they don't know what to do with her. Alot of her episodes are meh at best such as her pysduck ep which was cute. Simple fix just have her travel with the boys and have her drop out of school. Not like school is important in the pokemon world *Past companions*: Korina was done a bit dirty. Her battle with Ash and Dragonite was nice but way to easy of a W for Ash even with a Dragonite. As for the others they only get a single ep dedicated to them and thats it. Ima predict Gary and Iris will get 1 ep each and will never be heard from again as if we never saw them. The boy mewtwo was only there for the sake of fan service. Remove his ep and nothing in the anime changes at all. They could just spend 2 to 3 eps with them to establish them like with may and dawn. *Sword and Sheild Ark*: A major event in the game is easily gloss over with. Can't blamed them cuz the event in the game was dumb in the first place. Solution: have it be occurred later or make it more life threatening or simply make it where Rose realised the lack of power will occure in a few years instead of thousands. *Lack of Galar mons for Ash*: After so many ep he only has preishstoric ugly misplace fish demon and far-fetch. Just let Ash catch pokemon. If Goh can catch with one ball so can Ash *Lack of pokemon screentime*: Ganger gets little screentime in the newer ep and even is mad about it in the ep with Chloe. The same is with Dragonite. He to gets little screen love. *Team rocket*: Can they just f*ck off? They are more annoying then ever. The Gatcha device is one of the dumbest things ever and basically ruins any development for a rocket pokemon and is the sole reason Goh gets a damn Green monkey. If they have no use team rocket just need to go away or give them a black and white feel to them at least. Make them an actual threat

I’m honestly tired of the Goh pandering and we’ve had nothing about the world tournament lately it’s like they’ve forgotten about it and Ash in general. I love Ash has a really strong team and all but he needed one of the starters to represent Gen 8 properly right now Ash has only 2 Gen 8 mons. Goh is a really terrible character I would honestly prefer if journeys had Ash travel alone or if we got a PROPER GEN 8 anime. Because right now it’s just Pokémon Go the anime with some bits of Gen 8 on the side. Really all the problems with Pokémon right now is on Pokémon Go’s success.

Grookey was the worst offender out of the 3. Sure Go just randomly tossing a ball only to hit Sobble while it was invisible was bad, but the Grookey episode of having it latch onto Go for literally no reason from the get go was just horribly contrived. The problem with Gou was that the way he was introduced in the first place. The story of him just started off as him seeing Mew and then saying how he wanted to catch Mew to become his starter Pokemon. Then when Gou met Ash they became friends. Thats when Scorbunny came and then Gou saw it. At first he didn't want it because he kept to his word that he wanted Mew as a starter, but because Scorbunny admired Gou so much that he had to catch him making it the first Pokemon he ever caught. This is where things go downhill. Gou just somehow changed the story where he didn't much care about making Mew his starter but then decided to catch every single Pokemon he saw. Sometimes he uses his Pokemon for battles but other times he doesn't. That first battle we saw was just a complete failure on his part. Then when Gou saw Ash battling for the first time he got interested so at that point people were expecting Gou to become a Pokemon Trainer. Unfortioantley that still didn't make him take Pokemon battles seriously since he was still in the mindset of catching every single Pokemon. I have to wonder why is he catching all these Pokemon and just hoarding them and not using them as much in battle. He has use some of his Pokemon in other episodes but its like you don't even see them grow a bond with each other and some episodes try to make it seem like they earned his respect. We never see Gou training with his Pokemon so it just rubs people the wrong way when they try and act like Gou is more experienced in battles despite the fact that all he was doing was just catching Pokemon. Its frustrating even when he caught Suicine and then he wanted to release it but then the writers decided that Gou must keep it so Suiciene decided to stay anyway. So its like he caught it and now he's never going to use it. Thats when the straw finally broke when Gou got Grooky. I mean this just seemed so rush. Grooky was held by Team Rocket for whatever reason and then when Gou saw this he wanted to have Grooky. Then the stupid thing happen when Grooky was ordered to return to the Pokeball it just broke it. Then Gou caught Grooky because they had a "bond" going. They only just met and now they have a bond. I mean wtf?! So yeah thats why Gou is the most hated character because his story is all over the place and it just ruined the potential for him to be a good character.

Im just realizing its been 60 episodes and Ash still doesnt really have a goal hes working to. I guess hes still got the Pokemon World Championships but its been months now without any real development in that area. Im pretty sure theres only been 1 episode actually focused on Ash climbing the leaderboard since the Darkest Day mini-arc. I like how they are developing Koharu as a character and im glad shes gonna be included more but it still feels like the story as a whole is running in place, which is the #1 reason why I didnt like SM. For some reason the writers have ditched the formula of Ash traveling around the region and getting badges when people werent even complaining about it. Gen 7 they tried Pokemon School, which had zero purpose other than a meeting place for the SM group. They didnt learn anything and they didnt meet any other classmates, even though there were other people at the school. Now Ash and Goh are research assistants but it just seems to be keeping Ash from going on a legitimate journey and meeting a bunch of people and pokemon

The real problem with Goh is that he never fails .. All he wants, he got. Nevertheless he does some mistakes, which can be quite important but he always fall back on his feet. Yes, he totally failed his first battle and stop (pathetic attitude) but that's all Zapdos was near to be caught but it's not totally done I guess Morevover, the gestion of Cinderace is quite interesting. He didn't want to help it to become stronger and when Scorbunny has evolved, it became more distant. But it wasn't Goh'fault because Raboot was in teenager crisis and then it came back to the normal when it became Cinderace So Goh did mistakes but he is never guilty or has some consequences ... A point I think is important is that after the mature, more cocky, and skilled Ash from XYZ, and taking the first big step towards his dream in SM with the "league", the anime is setting him back so we have more filler in this season, don't know why. But still after XY and SM, and seeing how much he's grown, a novice like Go is several levels below him, so they prop Go up to make him an equal and that leads to very fast progression for him, instead of Ash, so Go feels more Mary Sue, and Ash feels useless now. It should have been closer to the dynamic between May and Ash or Dawn and Ash, a mentor/student relationship, just so Ash as a protagonist could learn new things and use them for his dream, and that in turn allows Go to grow too. By abandoning the formula of the series (character related at least) they shot themselves in the foot, by trying to justify Ash being as inexperienced as Go, or Go being "wiser" than Ash, they abandoned the thing that made the supporting cast of every season fullfilling.
@WarriorLionstripe3 жыл бұрын
And the thing is, Goh is not wiser than Ash. They try so hard to make it seem that way, but it is very evident that Ash is still much more experienced. It just gives an off feeling. Ash doesn’t seem like himself anymore. Sure, his general character and personality is still intact, but his entire character arc is just ripped in shreds.
@Trunks1stApprentice3 жыл бұрын
One of the only things keeping me going at this point is the hope that Gou is just going to be a Gen 8 anime thing. Once Ash battles Leon, Gou will either catch Mew and stop traveling or find a lead on where Mew is that sends him in a different direction from Ash. A completed character arc that'll hopefully have a satisfying conclusion, if nothing else, and then we can move on with Ash into Generation 9. At which point, if the anime staff decide to give us a new character that's like Gou, they'll be able to step back and examine was works or doesn't work about Gou to improve upon their writing.
@marki33673 жыл бұрын
For me, it's not really the starters that is the problem but how they handled Goh. He just magically became powerful and captures strong pokemon like it's nothing. I even thought he'll keep using Cubone because of the strong connection between them. And the reason that they used for him to be able to capture Suicune did not make sense. Legendary pokemon are legendaries. Not ordinary. But Suicune got easily captured by the poachers. And Zapdos got easily cornered by him. Moreover, I feel like Ash just became unnecessary. Like, it would be better if he wasn't here. And I have been a fan of Ash since OG.

The greatest problem for me personally isn't the fact that he has all three Galar starter, is the fact that he, a newbie trainer that has the goal to catch every creature under the Sun, leave every Pokémon he has alone and forgoten in Sakuragi park. It irritates me how people are focus on who ashs catches and not Ash himself. It doesn't matter AT ALL what pokemon he gets. As long as its meaningful amd comes with development. I agree; it really does sound like a petty reason to me. I've seen people complain that Ash's Pokemon "can't have any development" if they're fully evolved or can't evolve. Ash's Gengar had development (learning to trust humans again after becoming resentful due to abandonment) and it was fully evolved. Ash's Lapras had development (going from a lost child abused by beach bullies to rejoining its herd and eventually becoming leader of that herd) and it couldn't evolve. Ash's Pikachu had development (going from being spiteful & lazy to being Ash's best friend & most reliable Pokemon) and it refuses to evolve. yeah, i was thinking the same thing, goh has all starters, and ever since 1998 ash has had at least one of the starters from each region, and that doesn’t sit right with me because it now feels like they are trying to make goh the main character now. just think about it, we’ve barely seen ash participating in the corination league. and as of now ash has none of the false starters. but with goh, we’ve seen more development with him, he catches new pokémon almost every episode, he has all the galar starters, he is making more “bonds” with pokémon he catches, it just feels like now ash has become the traveling companion of goh.

Okay I’m going to real... Raw thoughts I stopped watching the anime because it doesn’t really excited me as used too Maybe it’s just me getting change I life, get a bit older, busy or burning out a bit but eh... I feel like the Pokémon anime lost some of it’s magic and the little remain is sorta force vibe to me. The bonds aren’t truly there, it’s more like Pokémon catch of the day and filler fun. The only time things get interesting is when anime brought a past character back but that made me feel hallow I like Goh and Koharu but I don’t really feel anything, maybe the occasional wisps but then dies out... They are traveling region to region but idk it feel like ehh... I want to see Galar but feel like I get only a few things from it... Seeing Bea and Dynamax got me hyped up but then it died soon immediately. If things truly get interesting I might get back to the watching it but for now I’m on my next train and waiting for the next event / station. Listening to my inner megearna mark my journey.

You know, I knew that Goh was gonna catch Grookey somehow someway. And since I prepared for this to happen I wasn't as sad when Ash didn't catch it and found many, MANY more problems with Grookeys capture away from the fact. But it still sort of stung, and now I think I know why. All of Ash's captures in Journeys were these super powerful Pokemon that were fully evolved. That's cool and all, but there seems to be a problem that comes with that. No real development, they're fully evolved ultra powerful Pokemon from the get go so there's no reason why they should develop. This is the equivalent to Ash bringing his Sinnoh team to Unova. They're grown Pokemon that don't really need to develop. That's why Pokemon like Farfetch'd and Riolu intrigued. There are places for them to grow. Then they went full stop on Riolu and now that it evolved it serves no more purpose I guess since it's appearing so much less. And Farfetch'd is actually doing pretty fine. But Grookey could've been the true fresh start I felt was lacking for Ash to his detriment. But they gave him to Goh in what I feel was the worst way they could have with such terrible writing and throwing great ideas out the window. I somehow still don't hate Goh even after all this. I still think he can grow and become better in the public eye. I still think Journeys can be a great series but for right now it's a mixed bag of mess with so many gaping holes in it that it's getting harder and harder to stay optimistic. Sorry for the long ass comment. Just, that Grookey episode.

If they wanted to change it up and give the other starters to a new character, I think that concept in of itself is fine to me. The problem is that the writing growth of Ash & Gou's Pokèmon is just so weak compared to almost any other series. Ash has strong starts with his Gen 8 team... but then he neglects them for episodes on end. And then you have Gou who basically is so inconsistent with his team, it's hard to really feel something with almost any of them. If Ash had a better balance of newer Pokèmon and these fanservice catches, with more proper build-up, then I think it would be fine. But between that and Gou's "all over the place" team and goal is just underwhelming. I don't think Gou will replace Ash as the main character, since he's been around far too long for that. But I do think this format for this series could've been handled better.

Ash is a league victor not a champion. He is in no way comparable to Lance, Cynthia or Steven. Alola League victory is like when the Vikings found Iceland. Empty field with nothing to conquer which they actually made up magical creatures to feel like actual conquerors. Then taking a look with the Roman empire and be like, I feel you bro. Is an empty meaningless win. They never said Ash badges expire, he should have re traveled and won every league he failed the first time around rotating his existing pokemon. Developing his Gible, Quilava, Bayleef etc.

Here’s how to make Pokémon journeys good: show ash battling. I don’t give af if he catches a starter or not I just want to see him battle with his OP team. But they aren’t showing it which is the biggest problem. Pokémon journeys isn’t the “gen 8” or the “sword and shield” anime. Pokémon journeys is a whole new thing that is way different than any other series so him not catching a galar starter doesn’t matter. I guarantee you that if Pokémon journeys would be focused on battling that everyone would love the series and ignore goh’s problems.

I think an analytical, realist, pessimist character has a fighting chance. Even if he manages to steal some of Ash's thunder. Even if he doesn't overcome Ash in popularity, at least people shouldn't hate him. What murdered him is the increasing resentment people feel from the sense that he's allowed to play on Easy mode, ignoring the usual restrictions. It isn't even all that he's an advertisement for Pokemon Go and so is given his One-Ball ability (effectively a cheat). Remember how it took May all 192 episodes of AG to grow her Torchic through all three stages into Blaziken? Now how many episodes did Go's Scorbunny use to advance to Cinderace? Things like that. And that whole farce with Suicune simply burst the dam for many people. I think Episode 59 actually was done OK, and I can see how they tried to avoid the parts people complain about. Nor is the capture time (1 episode covering 2 days) short - it's typical. Not everyone can be Paul's Chimchar, and while *Ash* had to wait a bit before obtaining it, *Paul* didn't have to work that hard. So I don't know where all those proposals for multi-episode arcs came from. But by then, the hate against Go became a solid clump and people are coming up with every excuse, including spurious ones, to attack the episode.

goh is a victim of the product the ideal is no different than paul but with paul, and trip , and many of ashes other rivals who were more about the statistics than the bond. its the fact that at least those rivals had bonds, that may have been shown in their own way but you could tell that they cared. goh seems like an empty advertisement that can be turned on and off when the company feels he needs to appeal to the crowd. doing this pushes away many who want consistent growth and C.D Dawn, May, Serena all had growth and had out shined Ash on multiple occasions, but they were human compared to Gohs agent smith. if that makes sense

My main problem with goh is that he catches a pokemon, treats him/her like they're his favorite for an episode or 2 (sometimes longer aka sobble), and then they're never seen again. Like have we even seen raichu since that episode. And now Grookey is the new sobble with him hanging on goh's shoulder... with sobble nowhere to be found. I like the fact that he's going to catch a lot of pokemon, but there's so many problems with how the producers are going about it. I was mad when I thought he was going to catch Zapdos and I was glad that he didn't, to show he isnt even close to reaching that level yet. Then he gives like 2 berries to suicune and boom. Catch successful. Like his character had so much potential with the ways he could've gone out catching pokemon, but I feel like he catches every pokemon within the first 2 tries with 90% of them being 1st try. The fact that we could be seeing more reunions with old characters/pokemon or some sort of flashbacks from places ash has been to, or even more pokemon world championships (even if it isnt ash and its rivals of his, new and old) instead of goh just chucking pokeballs at pokemon never to be seen again is just v disappointing to me

Yea I never minded Go getting the spotlight but I do agree that the issue is how lopsided Journeys really is where the battling aspect was pushed way too far into the sideline which became a detriment to Ash as a result and it also sidelines an important aspect of the games as well as catching Pokémon being the battling element. It’s really a shame as Unlike previous series, Ash doesn’t travel around one region at a time so it could of allowed Ash to loosen up that philosophy of starting fresh every time and bring back his older Pokémon from time to time to mix things up with the world tournament battles (which if I have to be honest, most of them are kinda boring because almost all of them are too brief for its own good). Some of my favourite Pokémon battles are actually from the Sinnoh league because it allowed Ash to bring his old Pokémon back to mix up his teams and lets his current team interact with his old Pokémon while also giving his old Pokémon the opportunity to to grow and evolve long after their series and thats the reason why the Sinnoh league is my favourite league in the entire series.

Except here’s the problem with that. By giving Ash strong Pokémon right off the bat, all you end up doing is causing stagnation for Ash. A major part of Ash’s narrative is the growth of his Pokémon and making them stronger. Give him fully evolved and strong right off the bat and not only are you showing that you don’t get Ash as a character but you’re removing the aspect of development in his Pokémon. As a result, they stay the same since there’s no need to develop them and as a result, they stagnate over the course of the series

As for the strong pokemon thing Dragonite was sidelined to make room for riolu development. The previously mentioned underdeveloped farfetch’d is getting some attention too. Gengar: another powerful pokemon of Ash’s has been on a losing streak. Dragcovish hasn’t even’t been touched since capture. Ash is taking time to grow with his weaker pokemon.The writers are still working on ways to further develop Ash. However, you can argue that they’re not doing as good as a job as they should. Like I said before the series is not exempted from criticism but, I think it’s fair to acknowledge the few things it’s done right.

@@eljordinio7647 It’s not, by starting from scratch I meant having pikachu’s strength being reset in every region since the original series.( black and white being the worst offender). Ash has had decent development with the two first stage pokemon he obtained. Which is why I don’t think him not catching a starter is such a big deal.

@@pikapower98 The Bea issue was barely an issue of development as they completely sidelined it after it occurred, for an episode that for Go to catch a Pikachu, proceeded to have it affect him for a single episode as a means to sideline Ash so that Go could take the lead (even having him perfectly execute one of Ash’s moves he’d never even seen) and have it instantly resolved even having Ash take on Bea again despite no time devoted to him actually working with his Pokémon for this aside from a short training segment at the start of said episode For Farfetch’d, they’re now rushing its development so much that they’ve basically squeezed its entire narrative into 3 parts within the past 10 episodes after barely doing anything with it since it was captured despite them having had plenty of time to develop it over time. With Gengar, people need to cut it on claiming it’s on a losing streak. It’s been used in a total of 2 battles and in the first it beat Raichu before going down to Electrode. The only battle it didn’t get any wins in was against Korrina. That in no way warrants a losing streak. There’s really nothing there to develop from And Dracovish may be new, but the fact that it hasn’t so much as appeared since being captured is not good especially when they spend as much time as they do in Vermilion City. Hell, it wasn’t even among the Pokémon when it came to Ash’s PWC win montage. In the 9 episodes since it was caught, there has been zero acknowledgement of its existence. If the writers actually have any real plan with Ash, they sure aren’t showing it very well nor are they inspiring confidence in their usage of him. Maybe if they’d remove their lips from Go’s butt for about 5 minutes, they could actually do something but they certainly don’t seem to present any interest in doing anything of the sort despite their claims that this is a duel protagonist show

Still hoping that one of these two will actually battle a Pokemon instead of just asking or throwing a Poke Ball. I mean... When was the last time ash did that? Unova? Sinnoh?

Pretty sure Ash caught fletching in a battle so my guess is Kalos

why does it have to be a starter for ash to connect with?? he cant connect with other pokemon, hes already done that with Gengar!! Gengar was abandoned by his trainer and ash helped him through it, and breaking traditions has been a thing since x and y

I've said this on Twitter and on other videos, and I'll say it here as well. I genuinely think that we were supposed to get many more episodes developing this anime. I think that Covid changed the timeline of this show. The way the Pokemon anime has always been scheduled was around the games, and I think that with the hiatus the show had to go on, some episodes were cut to maintain the schedule they had already set up. That's why I believe that we had things like the 4 episode Eternatus Arc (which was pretty well done, but could have been longer), opening scenes explaining that Ash has had many battles, rather than showing them, and most importantly, I believe that Go was supposed to have more development prior to his capture of Suicune. I personally think Go capturing a legendary, any legendary is a good thing, and was also inevitable. However, I think that Go should have caught Zapdos instead of catching Suicune. What I wanted to happen for Go was for him to catch Zapdos and for it to scorn him for it. Not just for an episode like with Suicune, but for a good few episodes. Maybe Zapdos starts to become weak, because it's stuck in captivity. This would lead to Go realizing that not every Pokemon wants to be captured, and this would cause him to think about his captures more thoughtfully, and begin to have much stronger bonds with the Pokemon he already has. This is actually the reason I believe Ash will never catch a legendary pokemon, because he has seen this first hand. He's seen what happens to legendary pokemon when they're taken from their habitats, and he'd rather just meet them or battle them to prove his strength to them. Here's the other thing about Go and Ash that people have a tough time remembering. Ash is a champion now. He's officially won a Pokemon league. Like it or not, that means that the dynamic of the show has changed forever. Ash isn't a novice trainer anymore, and he can't/shouldn't act like one anymore, or it cheapens his development over the past 25 years. This unfortunately means that the majority of Pokemon under his belt are going to be pokemon that are much stronger because that's how it works. Look at it from a game standpoint. When you become champion in SwSh, the majority of Pokemon you encounter scale up to 60. This could just be the anime representation of this, where the Pokemon Ash is encountering are on a much higher tier than when he was still a "novice". You know who still is technically a novice? Go. And yes, I get the outrage about a novice trainer catching a legendary pokemon, but that's just how it works in the game that Go is based on in the first place. In Pokemon Go, you don't have to be a very high level to catch a legendary Pokemon. I think I was only level 16 when I caught my first Suicune in the game. Any novice can get lucky in Pokemon Go, and that's just kinda how it went for Go when he encountered Suicune. He got lucky. And sure, the development the anime gave Go with Suicune was a bit lackluster, but I say again, I think we were supposed to get more if Covid wasn't a factor. I obviously don't have any proof, more just a hunch based on how things have gone in the past. But I personally really like Go, and this was just me sharing my opinion. I know Ash is supposed to be the main character, but he has been for the entirety of the shows run. Isn't trying new things to modernize the show for all fans a good thing? Besides, do you really want to go back to novice trainer brain Ash? Because without Go, I feel like that's what would happen. You need the novice for Ash to be a strong trainer, but that also requires developing that character, and that means screen time and pokemon going to that character.

I don't think ash did truly need a starter, ash has had 3-4 starter trios, he doesn't need to have even more starters, also some starters didn't get goals(bulbasuar, totodile and quilava come to mind) and people don't mind

Okay look. I know they are trying to make Gou a good character but the way they go about him is just all over the place. He says that he wanted to catch Mew in the beginning as his starter Pokemon, then he said he wanted to catch all the Pokemon by throwing Pokeballs and not really being too much into battles. My main issue with Gou is that he doesn't use most of those Pokemon he caught. I mean what was the point? I feel like this was just done to promote Pokemon Go you know the mobile game. That was a really bad way of introducing the character. When Ash showed go what Battles were all about I would assume that he would understand and wanted to train with his Pokemon to get stronger just like Ash. Instead he just decides to still catch all the Pokemon he sees rather than using them. Its going to be really hard for me to like Gou if this is what the character is doing. With all due respect Gou does have the potential to be good but right now after what happened with the whole Suicene getting caught and Grooky given to Gou I am not too convinced that he would change and evolve as a character. Unless if the writers actually care about the story then they would have to give reasons for Gou to change his Gou and realize that catching every Pokemon is not possible and if he tries too hard its going to get to the point where he doesn't have fun anymore, therefore he should have Pokemon that he can rely on to win in battles and make himself like a real Pokemon Trainer. I know this is controversial and I know its my opinion but for me personally Pokemon Journeys is just not making me want to watch if the focus is only going to be on Gou and not much of Ash. So until I see something interesting happen I will be skipping episodes from Pokemon Journeys. There is just too many Filler episodes that are not interesting.

Knowing Ash's personality, i have yet to see something out of order to make me consider leaving the anime behind. I mainly have 3 problems with the current anime at the time i'm writing this but i consider them to be minor: - first, i'd like to see them grow up physically of course. It's basically a dream at this point asking to be realized but i don't want it to be done spontaneously ; in contrary, i'd want it to be done progressively. - serious tone episodes a bit more serious/deeper. They already started since SM so basically, i'm saying "keep it going, don't tone it down." - second, the pace has kind of slowed down but i know it's temporary until the next big event(s). Go is a character i like and enjoy whenever he goes on adventures with Ash, because Ash is easily open hearted towards him. But Go alone, as a character, feels just meh to me. I don't hate him but i don't feel any kind of special attachment to him ; i sure loved the episodes where they showcased him in his past though. The reason to why i feel that way is maybe because of its extremely quick growth as a Trainer and lack of "unique touch" (aka originality) that makes him special. Whenever you think Ash, you know what makes him special and what's making you like/dislike him. But with Go, i don't know. Anyway, i don't hate him and i'm still keeping an eye on him to have a proper feeling on him. Chloe on the other hand is adorable and i like her a lot.

I still believe he can Zarude. 1. He got Water/Dark Pokémon in Kalos. 2. He got Fire/Dark Pokémon in Alola. 3. He can get a Grass/Dark Pokémon in Galar. Zarude was also shown running beside Ash in the opening. There’s a possibility that it may come true
