I’m gonna ask a dumb question simply because I don’t know. When you drop that sinker, does it go all the way to the bottom? Do you let it sit there or do you like bounce it and stuff. I just wanna learn and I don’t have any friends that fish. Thanks.
@TheLawlessTide2 жыл бұрын
You let it go to the bottom the reel up a little so it doesn't get hung up.

Serious question as I’m new to salt water. why do you such light gear? Wouldn’t heavier rods and steel leaders help?
@TheLawlessTide2 жыл бұрын
The lighter the gear the more bites you get. But you lose more fish. If you use a steel leader at the bridge about the only thing you're gonna hook is sharks.

Try using small shiners or pins. Your really smart using 20lb leader with a #1 circle hook. Shiners and pin fish keep the sallies off the hook. Hook your live bait through the nose.

@@TheLawlessTide I use this all the time and limit on snapper in 1.5hrs. However, you can hook up on Grouper or large Snook sometimes. I caught a 16" & 18" Gray snapper one day. Thanks for sharing your tips also. I learn alot from you too. I'm located on the east coast south of Vero Beach. There's no reefs close to shore here so I spend all my time on flats and bridges.

If you adjust your drag, more efficient, you won’t have as many problems with Rod, breaking and losing fish! I love Shimano Vanford 2500! It will handle about anything! My biggest fish was a 56 inch gar at the dam and I take it salmon fishing in Alaska when I go. I use it for all inshore fishing here. My biggest redfish was 43 inches my biggest trout 36 the real holds up super well under a lot of abuse. I fish with 8 pound braid and 15 pound Flora carbon on the G Loomis, 6 1/2 foot medium fast NRX . It’s the perfect size for me in my kayak. A good drag system on your reel is equally as important as the rod and reel itself for sure. Thanks for the video it was fun to watch !

i love that setup for inshore fishing in this area, except for the bridge fishing. i bring my lighter offshore rod (30 lb braid with plenty of mono leader). Heavier setup so i can drag a bigger fish out of the structure. Also 10-20 ft of mono leader thats rated a littled under 30 so that a snag will be guaranteed to save my braid

I used my heavier setup that day with 30lb braid and 30lb fluoro leader and nothing would bite it. I definitely agree the longer leader would've helped. Thanks for watching.

Love the videos, I am a new subscriber. I’ll be in Santa Rosa beach at the beginning of June visiting family, I have access to kayaks and am trying to get out and do some fishing in the bay for reds or even going out off shore a bit to some reefs. Would love some recommended general areas / set ups for that time of year if you wouldn’t mind. Also, we have access to a bay boat in Destin thru a family friend. I don’t know anything about salt water fishing, so any advice helps! Thanks, looking forward to more good content coming from this channel.

I switched to my heavier rig for a while and didn't get a single bite with it, that's why it wasn't in the video. Switched back to the lighter rig and instant bites. I would rather get bites and risk losing a fish than go heavier and risk no bites. That's just my personal preference though.
