Good video, the one recommendation that I would make, when loading....after the boat is latched, pull up the ramp only far enough to walk back and secure your wench strap and safety chain without getting your feet wet. That way you are not relying on he Drotto exclusively and will never have your boat de-couple from the Drotto and end up sliding back on the trailer inadvertently.

If im not mistaken , you backed in futher the second time . First time the tops of your fenders where still visible but didnt see them the second time . Nice video , thinking about doing it to my 25ft . But it would be right about the max for weight limit rating , so im hesitating
@FishingInsideTheLines4 ай бұрын
@@joelstanhope7231 That is correct. The reason is that it’s ok to back in deeper when taking it off the trailer. With this boat, if I back in shallower like when I’m loading the boat, the boat would not float off the trailer and I would then need to power it off. Powering it off the trailer repeatedly can cause the carpeted trailer bunks to start tearing. Thanks for watching!

@@FishingInsideTheLines yea , I noticed it took a lot less power and bang when you loaded it the second time with the trailer a little deeper . Thanks for the vid

attach a length of rope to the release handle. Much easier than reaching down. Works well for me.

Can you still load without "power loading" using original strap to draw boat towards Drotto locking mechanism, and does it lock freely? Just wondering in case a boat ramp has No Power Loading signs.
@FishingInsideTheLines10 ай бұрын
I think that would depend on three things. 1. The size of your boat and 2. What type of trailer you have. 3. How deep you back the trailer in the water. A boat my size would be difficult to wench up with a carpeted bunk trailer like I have. If I had a roller trailer I don’t think it would be an issue. As far as locking freely goes I haven’t had any issues. I’m glad I bought it. Hope this helps!

@@FishingInsideTheLines Pretty much the same as yours, except the 1875 Fisherman. I was just wondering if there were to be any interference between the Drotto latching mechanism & the strap buckle; if someone was forced to use the strap and draw the boat to the mechanism to lock-in. Thanks for the info.

I think it would be clear from hitting the latch system @@BumpNrun69

I have a 211 DC Key West boat, it’s no problem to wench boat on to trailer and activate the latch……. The boat is similar to a 215 235 Grady White, deep Carolina bow and heavy construction….

Dosnt Lund void the warranty on the boat if you install one of those?
@FishingInsideTheLines9 ай бұрын
No they do not.
@haywoodjablowmee31439 ай бұрын
Ok maybe it’s just the glass boats that do. I know warrior won’t honor hull warranty issues if the trailer has one. Good to know thanks

It’s an option when ordering a new boat now from Lund. My fisherman is in and picking it up tomorrow! When you say you had to move one bolt, please elaborate on which bolt needs to be adjust and Thank You in advance. JR @FishingInsidetheLines.

@@jeffrioux4900 Hi Jeff! The winch portion of the trailer that has the “Profile” sticker on it was installed flat and I adjusted the one bolt to angle that winch piece up. Hopefully, that makes sense. It is in the first minute of the video. You’ll be able to see at the beginning that it is flat and then angled a few seconds later. Hope you enjoy your new boat!

@@jeffrioux4900 If you ordered it through Lund with your boat maybe it will be installed already from the factory or dealer.
