Yup! You made a good buy! 👍. I just did the exact same thing; bought a Hydrostream Viper from a guy in AR. Drove 800 mile round trip to fetch her. Same color as that Vector. He claims that the boat is unbelievably quick, with a Merc 2.5 strapped on with a 28P cleaver. Can’t wait to run her this AM!! 😁

It definitely looked better in the pics. I loved the seats. He kept dropping the price in the groups. Hopefully its solid underneath. If he only had it 2 years but he was claiming all the core work was done like 5 or 6 years ago makes ya wonder. Get her powered and on the water!

I think the seller was a stand-up guy. It’s obvious that the boat was in the mock-up phase; nothing to be concerned about. I just paid $8750 for a Viper that does not look half as good as the boat that you bought…. But I the Merc 2.5 EFI was rigged onto it, turnkey, but nowhere near finished.

I hear ya! People will misrepresent when the chips are down; true. In an odd sort of way, I’m anxious to watch you resurrect the hull, from the bottom to the top. I’ve gained a profound interest in these Hydrostream and own (2) of them; a Viper & a Vector… and probably a few more in the future. 👍

@thebrowncompound I have a sea-star but I bought this boat as original. So I do not trust the transom without it being redone before I bolt on that extra weight I should of bought a Manuel jack plate not a hydraulic one.

What size motor you gonna put on it ? 4 stroke 2 stroke ? I have a small Jon boat I watched and built just like you did yours 14-36 670 swamp runner tho. Jon boats are meant flex a little correct ?? I can’t tell seems like mine might have a little on the back were it sits on the bunks but can’t be sure if it did it was minor. Never payed attention to it so not sure. Thanks for advise on that if you see it !

They’re always going to Flex a little bit wouldn’t be able to tell you if yours was bad or not unless I saw it, 2 stroke all the way

@@thebrowncompound What horsepower and brand. Hope you go with a MERC or evinrude! And if it moved I’m not sure. It would be measures with a feeler gauge if it did between floor and rib. I’m thinking it looks like it did because mud and sand was packed in it and rain washed it away and now looks like it moved. I mean probably alright then if it’s that Minor if it did ?? Thanks man for help !! Learning more this is first boat
