I did that same drive in 2000 i had a 1989 vw 16v gti that thing was a beast. And my car was loaded with stuff included my mother and brother, the car pulled like i was alone in it.

@@CorradoRacer I would like to take a look on how the wiring is, my golf is from the 86, kjectronic.. seems like the same as your engine.. I managed to rebuild and fix the whole wiring harness because it was completely broken.. the ignition coil has like 4 5 wires but I cannot put them properly.. could we talk by email or something?
