Emma, as far as sentimental, heirloom items... The best advice I have received is just take a picture of those items that you dont want anymore with sentimental meaning so u alway have a picture of it. Honestly, I have been doing this and helps with my brain and heart. Last night, I came across 2 VHS tapes that my Dad taped of Cartoons and The Muffet Show, I kept them all these years bc of the wonderful childhood memories and His handwriting on the label. I felt sad but happy to hold it 1x again but knowing I have a picture made my heart feel much better ❤❤😢😢 so hard to let go of things, but things wont bring my Daddy back but I dont need the tapes to honor my Pops❤❤😢😢❤

If you can live financially for awhile without the second job, tell them that you’re taking a sabbatical. Then take that extra time to do the things that you want and need to do around your house.

Hi Emma, happy Saturday, hope you all had fun at the fete. Re your 2nd job: what is God saying? Do you need the job? Do you need 2 jobs? (Obviously don’t answer that here, it’s your personal situation). Is this the time to lay it down or does that not sit well with you? Re decluttering: 10 things from each room is a really good exercise to get you thinking about what you need and like, but you still have too much for the house to contain. You’re a very hard working woman, you work 2 jobs, care for your daughter and husband, clean and cook etc. Give yourself the gift of a house with much less stuff.

Love the plan to get the items you don’t love, need or want. But, I would not take the time to sell anything , unless it is a bigger ticket item. Selling items takes time and effort..

Which event is coming up next, your holiday travel or your yard sale? I would clear the guest bed to the floor,(I can’t believe I’m even suggesting this!😬😵‍💫🤭) and then put EVERYTHING related to either your trip or your sale onto the bed. If you have boxes or shopping bags, you could even start bagging up the sale items (especially since you’re going to declutter ten items from each room, put the bags there immediately) and line them up at the head of the bed.You could even ask your parents and in laws to loan you some bags so that you only touch these items once until you put them out for sale.

Ooohhh I love the new angle😮❤ The sunlight coming thru the window just feels soooo refreshing to me. Ahhh, you make my heart smile whenever you mention me and my challenges. I love having you as a "Pen Pal" across the pond with YT❤🎉 I say the same thing... we need a small home too 😂😂😅😅 I always feel like I'm swimming upstream. My Bestie and I always joke about Finding Dory... the part where she says "JUST KEEP SWIMMING, SWIMMING!!" In the childish voice as a silly laugh but honestly with serious mental encouragement🐟🐠🐡🐟🐠🐡🪻🌼🪻

do a 15 min room tidy .. set a timer and just hit each room .. or even 5 min each room .. Also try each day to declutter 10 items each day .. and get it out of the house having a sale you never make that much for the amount of work .. so donate .. Also have donate box always going on .. then box it up and get all the items out of the house .

Hiya ! Decluttering a few items from each room sounds a great way forward. Maybe knock the second job on its head , like you say you’ve enjoyed it but it’s important not take on so much that you become unwell . Don’t forget to give yourself time and space . We can so easily neglect ourselves. Hope this helps . Thanks Emma 🌷🌸🌷Oh and thank you I had a lovely Birthday ! We had a day in Lytham and lunch with my parents 🥳

Hi Emma, gosh how quickly ‘stuff’ builds up. It can so easily slip back to becoming overwhelming again. I still try to do the 1 in so 1 out but could I apply the same if someone gives me something🤔 I really think hard now before I buy items such as do I have room,do I need it,it’s something I’ve got to be responsible for, look after it etc, more times than not I then walk away. Decluttering is a learning curve,it’s never ending it seems but I always feel better when I’ve sorted another drawer, don’t get me wrong, every room, drawer, cupboard etc has been gone through but some things I wasn’t ready to let go of last time that I can this time. It gets easier😊 I think you’re right about the job,see what the forms ask then decided if it’s really worth your time. 🥰🥰xx

Invite Guide troop over to clear out your pantry and ONLY put back what you really use. Treasure Hunt for them 😃. Similar game for garden shed. Many hands make light work and they will be thrilled to give back to their caring Leader. Teach them “life lessons” too. Hugs

I will start by saying I have no sentimentality around things. None. So this easy for me to say & do. I appreciate that it would be difficult for you. But you can politely say ‘No thank you. I don’t have room for any more items. In fact I am finding the sheer volume of stuff in my home stressful and overwhelming. So I am trying to declutter and minimise.’

Ohh Emma, use your holiday to relax unwind and find a bit time to give your situation a good think,no one can carry on under the pressure you have on you and for sure i can guarantee in the end EVENTUALLY, you will crack ,and all you are doing to better your lives will have been in vain. The whole family must be on board or it wont work,You simply have too much belongings and not enough space to keep them tidily put away, hence you clear up,you have mess again,🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️Love u Emma, such a hard worker ,kind person .Lizzie🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿✊

Could you put the suitcases on your landing or in your room until your vacation? Then challenge yourself to get the rest of the things on the bed cleared off before you leave. At that point you'll have a clear surface to put all of the things for your sale. Anything that doesn't sell, immediately goes to donation or the trash NOT BACK IN THE HOUSE! After the sale, your bed will be clean! Does your husband's sister have children? Perhaps you could offload the rocker at her house. It looks like before bedtime you should set a timer for 15 minutes and ALL three of you should clean the dining room. Hoping to hear more about the fete next time!

Hi Emma, I think you are a lovely lady, but I actually feel worried about you. You have 2 jobs , your own business and don’t let’s forget KZbin which is also another job. You have Guides , and run around for your daughters activities, you are a mum a wife and seem to do the lion share of the house and garden. Nobody could do all this successfully . Please don’t forget about time for yourself. There are not many people that could do this amount of work and stay well. Is there any way you could get some help. Love from Bedfordshire x

Mostly school books. I need to tidy the wicker school basket then she can put the books back Also all the washing. Not asked my husband to take it up and put it in 3 piles...... If I don't ask it's not done ....I just need to ask else it's not seen....

@@gettingtidy2495 I think your daughter can probably tidy the basket and then put her books in it Emma. I also suspect that if you just tell her to go it right now it will take as long as five minutes for her to finish!😁. Don’t add an item to your list/put a hurdle in the way of the other two people in the house helping….just ask your husband/tell your daughter and they will get in the groove of doing their bit. It’s a team sport.

With regard to things that other people give you,use your “no” for this month’s challenge. I would clean up the little table, rocking chair and grandfather’s refrigerator (?)and tell your mother in law how much you have enjoyed having them in your home up to now, but now you are getting rid of things that don’t support your family’s lifestyle anymore and you need to return them to her. It’s the same thing with gifts,my sister and I have an understanding that we only buy each other “consumables”, like food, booze, flowers, gift cards, etc. Also,if it’s really “the thought that counts”, then after someone thoughtfully gives you a gift,it’s now yours to regift or return. I would DIE if I knew that someone was keeping something out of guilt that I gave them!😵‍💫😖🫤
