I love my Fiio FH5S. Incredible IEM with great resolution. The presentation isnt that far off from my S12. The FH5S held up very well even against a pure Be driver like the Focal Utopia - different of course but given its price it even dug deeper in the bass. Semi-open back and vivid presentation makes this a very spacious iem with very high quality dynamic bass. A sleeper hit that was overlooked.

I have to agree. I think Fiio's gadgets are really great, but their sound sig, or their choices in the tuning, in their IEMs...not so much. I do have the FH3, but it was one of my first IEMs I had so I had no real point of reference at that time. It's OK.

I have FH3, I am basshead, in total love with godly sub bass & bass decay is fast with no bleed, vocals are pretty forward overall good midrange and instrument separation is quite good, treble is not bad either, best thing is they are non sibilant & can be used for long time. Build is above average with no concerns

Alright. Timmy I must Praise Fiio, in regards as them being pioneers of chifi years ago, never an easy path, they are still producing and may give impressing surprises yet. I got a kunlun about 8 or 10 years ago ahh! Still a reference once and every time i return, still a huge difference to my music, got me in love with the brand. They are still here around brutal competition, my guess is they are going to nail a couple things...I hope!

You say that one of the cons is the bass caused for the tuning, can't you EQ them and make them as you want? Would the fiio iems be valid if you EQ them even if they don't that much details?

Most below average IEMs will be valid if one knows how to EQ. If EQ is in the picture, the most you have to buy is $20 tangzu wan'er with already decent treble extension and you can EQ easily to any signature

@@lazykun_ The one thing to look for in a good IEM for EQing is good treble extension and treble smoothness. This is because treble is very hard or impossible to fix accurately without some experience or without owning a coupler to test measure. Treble can vary wildly with insertion depths and tip changes, so the best way to make EQ life easier is to get an IEM with already good treble to start. That's why I recommend on the cheapest end to get Tangzu Wan'er and on the higher end maybe try Hexa, Variations, or Xenns Top. B2 doesn't have the most ideal treble since it's a bit much and has peakiness to be remedied if you want to try out tunings with less treble.

@Steve 0.0 Yes. I listen to loud rock music. And I am treble sensitive. I was a music producer once. I listen to reviews about people saying that they like what they like because of taste. It's because of volume. The louder we play, the upper mids and treble goes up to 5db, and that can make everything sound thin and unreal. The fh 15 has a deep bass because of the long curved bass pipe.not the amount of tuning in the graph counts. What counts its timbre sound that goes well with the pope design or chamber and quality of driver . I have more than 75 iem right now. Some of them, even if the tuning about of frequency is right for me..the timbre leaves not happy. I know what a guitar sounds like. And a drum set sould sound. Looks at dans audio page when he puts the hexa vs. mest and fat frequency and listen to the drums. Kick part and you will know. Most reviewers don't even describe tonality . And that is bug part of music tone. They tall about warm being a bag thing when hifi was developed by class A tube amps. And that was the real sound . Warm as it should be. Some iem can be played good to a certain volume. You pass that threshold amd everything goes sour.

Got it. Hated the quality of the drivers. Bass sounds not clean. All nozzles sounded bad.the green filter has nothing inside. So I use that to place a sponge nedium density and placed inside to change the tuning and the distortion . Problem fixed. The drivers started to sound great. And the other noozle filters they have paper dumper filter that muffled the sound. So the sponge filter fixed all issues. Happy for that.

Havent watched the video. But people are different. For me DAP is essential. Less distraction listening from phone notifications and stuff. I can browse the social media freely while music is still playing maybe watch some stuff excluding the sounds (since ur listening from a DAP). Having a seperate player other than your phone is good feeling for me. Plus Battery life. Tho i dont like Android DAPS since their battery is kinda short. Non Android like ZX300 and WM1Z are my thing. Shanling M3X also has good battery for an android. Lastly, Balanced Output. If you have Balanced Cable with your IEM connected to your Balance DAP it sounds heavenly. Once i go balanced i never went back. Im not gonna get a DAP that has no Balanced Output. The SE (3.5mm) in players sounds basically like phones.

@@itzikca Yes it does. First I'm not an expert in grounds, conductors, signal and noise. All these types mentioned are different in Balanced and Unbalanced Audio. It flows differently is my word for it. Yes there's a difference. That's the main point. Some people are saying Balanced Output gives them soundstage improvements and added details. Some people are saying that it has more power/volume. The main difference between them is balanced output is just louder. I'm not gonna go into technicalities but I think people are saying that the balanced has more details and soundstage all because it's pretty much louder.

Additional. That's it. I just like balanced more. My friend has a Senn IE600. His source is AK Kann Max with his Effect Audio Cadmus 4.4mm cable. Oh boy sounds heaven.

I can't understand FiiO's tuning of their IEMs either, I've heard 5-6 models from them now and the tuning is all wrong. They build very beautiful and high-quality IEMs, but why don't they let another tuner do it for the 1000th IEM? Maybe they should let you or Crin have a go at it, then you could also recommend the things.

what do you mean by that. i can just as enjoy the tin C2 final A4000 and effect gaea as well as the fiio fh15. What i dont understand though is timmy's statement that there is no detail no extension and blunted transents. It has better extension than the FH7S and is on par detail wise. Sure the attack is slowish but that is constantly tuned throughout the iem and not just the DD as in the FH7S, besides sadly this seems to be thier new tuning style ever since the FH9. i miss the FH5S,FA7S,FD7 era for fast and snappy.

After 4 broken cables (B & C series, all breaking in the same place), stiffening plastics, 2 of my FH3 losing their nozzle grills, 1 even falling in pieces, I finally decided not to buy any FiiO Product anymore. The Quality just really sucks, it's a waste of money, there is much better stuff in that price range available nowadays.

Z-review praised this as best Fiio which one of you is lying and have agenda perhaps collaboration? I own one and though that it’s a fun iem and makes me think you have other motive just slam the product like this. Is a steal at $150 no go at any price point is just nonsense speaking. Sorry.
