Aw yee another upload from my fave reviewer with one of my preferred set in its tier! Absolutely agree with everything you said here. Honestly not an impressive one at all in the grand scheme of things to be frank, but the touch of warmth with relatively clear mids and treble combined with that soundstage just makes it addictingly fun and comfortable to listen to that works with so many genres of music! It's like having a craving for fast food instead of the normal stuff haha. Absolutely hate the cable though and needs more waifu c'mon Fiio get on that. I watch a lot of reviewers for different reasons but I look forward to your reviews the most for some reason and I can't seem to figure out why lol. Please never stop what you're doing dude you're great!

The tuning direction Fiio took with the FH5s baffles me, no one was complaining about the FH5 having too little mid treble which is the biggest problem I see with the FH5s: The 9k peak of death. I think the FH5 had good tuning though lacked a lot of air and could use a bit more upper midrange A true FH5s improvement IMO would be: 1 - Very slight upper midrange lift 2- A more balanced treble response that slowly starts rolling off a bit after 10k giving enough air without entering sibilance territory. 3- Much Technical performance improvements given that the FH5 came 3 years ago and the IEM landscape is different now.

FH5 is getting hard to find sadly and I hope they don't completely discontinue it until a better version comes out. I agree, FH5S is not the version to replace FH5.

I can't speak on Kanas Pro because it was before my time in the hobby. FH3 VS. KXXS FH3 is more subbass and treble focus, it hits deeper and has more air which also leads to it having a wider stage. KXXS is more of a neutral with added midbass emphasis, where the KXXS wins is in details and resolution, imaging, and tuning.

I mentioned deep subbass but not midbass. In comparison the OH10 has a lot more bass, noticeably more. FH3 is more balance overall, OH10 is a true bass head IEM.

I order this one. Jesus. The sound stage from this iem is like...... perfect . Like a true speaker in high fidelity should sound. From my 46 iem. They all dry tone. Is like having a speaker in the house without the box and quality crossover. This fiio is like having a quality B&W speakers at home that cost 30.000 dollars. Surprised that costs 130 dollars only. Wonder if the eclipse sounds the same or has the sound stage. You have both. Insight me

I have been enjoying this iems for some months now. Do you think Hana 2021 is an upgrade? I mean better bass, and highs without the ba timbre.

Hana 2021 is a better IEM over all but it does have a different sound signature. FH3 has more subbass while the Hana 2021 is more midbass. Timbre on Hana 2021 is better due to it being a well tuned single DD. Treble is better on FH3 while vocals and midrange are better on Hana 2021. Overall Hana 2021 is better.

He Timmy I just got a FH3 for its praise, and unfortunately I didn't like it much. I think of it as a bit dark in the vocals and lacking overall detail, although I can enjoy its subbass rumble. I then got the ER2SEs on promo and while I liked them better than the FiiOs, I think they still lack some air and resolution/detail in comparison to what I get using my HD 6XX and X00: they sound like a concert in a studio. They also make my ear canal feel very coarse after use. Is my unit maybe flawed? I can't agree with your points here although I do like some V shape (X00, KZs, Dt 880 with EQ, etc). I'm trying to get a sense of what a good iem would be for me in this price bracket because these quite threw me off balance... Anyway, although I couldn't agree with you on these, I think your channel is superb and very well done, I'm glad I stumbled upon it.

Fh5s should not have been named that. Fiio just sticks driver ba combos in their lines so it fit best in the fh naming category but tuning wise is way out there vs the rest of the line. At least the cable is good.

FH3 is my third best IEM behind the Clairvoyance and Monarch. Just a bit of a metallic sound but it does have a shimmer. My Clairvoyance does not have that shimmer. No a con, as FH3 has it's own sound. FH3 is a great IEM on its own but especially for it's price. Yes you can listen to them all day and they are a balanced IEM within its own sound. As for the many other reviewers that knock the treble, it actually is very good treble. Put some spinfits and you get a nice clean sound. All well balanced within its own sound. Many other reviewers begger and I believe vortex prefer the FH3 over FH5. FH3 for its total tuning. Sometimes total tuning beats detail especially when its a well done tuning. Its the music after all.

Thanks for sharing such a detailed thought! Yes I agree, tuning beats details every time for me. That's the soul reason why I prefer Oracle over my Clairvoyance, the tuning is just better. If you're a fan of the Clair like me you should try Oracle! :D

$195 is a great price! Also If you're going for Blessing 2 I highly suggestion Blessing 2 Dusk if you enjoy better bass. And yes the price is very justified for Blessing 2 Dusk, it is one of the best IEMs you can grab at that price range.

Would these be good for gaming? I was looking at the FD1 but found these and though I love great, fun sound, I really enjoy the imaging provided by the Blon 03's. I can pinpoint exactly where footsteps are coming from. It's just the rest of the sound quality that I'm trying to upgrade. Should I go with these for $130, or the FD1's for $60? The way you describe these are exactly what I like in terms of sound signature. But will I lose my ability to find/hear people when I use them to game? And will the FD1's do me better? I'd ask about the FD3 but they're $140 and out of stock

Honestly I'd go with Starfield if you want very good imaging and good level of details overall. The tuning on Starfield is great as well and it does have decent level of bass. $109.

@@Boemtie They're great IEMs overall, and great for gaming. But I bought a pair of Campfire Honeydews and they've been even better. It's hard to say but I could hear positional audio VERY well with them! Even vertical positioning, which is always cool to hear!

I only have the FiiO M11 Plus and they sound fantastic together. M11 Plus adds a bit more clarity to any IEMs and FiiO FH3 definitely benefits from it.

@@Gizaudio so it wouldn't be fair to say 1+1=3 when using fiio iems with their DAC amps? I was thinking that fiio may have really designed the iem's to have a synergistic effect with their DAC amps.

It is definitely not a 1 + 1 = 3 situation, I think rarely anything is like that in the IEM world. Especially because the technology is similar or same across the board, just differences in tuning and drive quality.

My fh3 balanced and HipDAC xbass is sooo good. When you aren't analytically listening but want to just jam out loud it's great. Cx-pro and x1 dongles don't drive them to their potential. My galaxy s10 gets them about 85-90% there but power behind the fh3 gets them to their maximum enjoyment with plenty of headroom to spare. Fh3 takes eq well with eq apo + peace combo. Or wavelet in android. Another plus so qudelix 5k would be awesome pairing.

I have the fiio utsw5 hooks and they sound just okay. I think with this iem specifically you need a decent dac Amp with some power. they sound amazing with bifrost and jotunheim. it not only gives you bass. but it's filthy bass, which is great for certain types of music.

Bass is not going to overpower non-bassheads. Vocals are plenty clean and clear so it's enjoyable for most people :)
