MTP #55: Post-Operative Care Following a Penile Implant

This is day one after surgery. For all the videos I’ve watch prior to my day, no one explain what for me was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. The capiter (sp). That damn thing kept me up all night and cursing at making this choice. Yet once removed; personally I covered my eyes, took a deep breath and said a prayer. The nurse tried to be gentle holding my member but due to swelling I’m sure a tear came out. Once out and pain meds taken it took an hour but I began to feel better. I’m still swollen and the tip is super sensitive but the member itself looks like what I came in with. I got the mailable option. Just urinating was an adventure. I’ll add more in other post.

Can you explain how to pull down the pump or how far do it has to be pull down

I just had a botched implant from one year ago replaced on 9/5 and I feel great. Tylenol did the trick with pain. first time was penile incision, but my new surgeon took the old out and put the new in thru the top of scrotum. Was a tough job but after only 5 days I am recovering nicely. Things are looking up!

I'm in South Central PA. How do I go about finding a good penile implant center. I'm 22 months post radical prostatectomy surgery. I did a year trying and failing miserably with Sildenafil. Not even a slight buzz. Now generic Cialis over 2 months. Nothing. Now dr has instructed me to add 2 extra Cialis about two hours before beginning stimulation. If that doesn't work tomorrow try 3. If that fails try the maximum of 4 additional Cialis again 2 hours prior. I think with my 70th birthday coming up next month I'd like to advance to the implant railroad non-stop. I have a titan installed. Overall good experience, going on 2 years now. I didnt cycle as i should have. I definitley lost about an inch of length. As far as the glands a co-worker suggested taking viagra as a supplement for extra blood flow to the glands. Any suggestions?

You mentioned several times that a perspective patient should find a dedicated prosthetic surgery center. How does a layman find such a center?

What does this procedure cost and or would the medical cover most of or all the cost to have it done

I had prostrate cancer which required immediate removing because of potential metastatizing. When metastatis occurred radiation and chemo shot it was given. No clear of cancer, my penis was still functional but shrinking do to poor blood flow and they greed to do implants. My medicare and supplemental blue cross plan paid for almost all of the procedure. Dr Perito's films are great to prepare you especially when he suggests you find a clinic for mens health. hope that helps.

hi Dr Perito. can you talk more about glans hypermobility and whether Urofill can be injected into the glans penis and how GirthMax works. love my implant but would be even more happy if glans was firmer. I use pde5 inhibitors.

Check with a urologist first to ensure that the fibrosis diagnosis is accurate.

You have mentioned before that .with sertin implants. You can possibly get more girth and length by giving extra pumps after it is inflated. I'm dew to get a implant the ninth by a Dr cancel in mission. Not sure which one he uses.im a grower so I'm worried that I want get a wide or long enough implant. What type would be best Boston group. Is the type he uses I think. Can you message me about that . Best Regard. Wish I lived in closer to you. BRG
