Thank you for this and using straightforward language. I just got a call informing me to go to hospital in the morning for surgery and I already have started to panic. This has helped.

Suppose a patient with PDR has about 60% vision. He undergoes this PRP treatment. Now is there a risk that instead of any improvement his vision drops below from what it initially was?

Had laser done in 1996 on my right eye. Now I just had it done on my left eye. Back in 96 the laser was single zaps that felt like a finger flicking the eyeball....pretty painful. NOW there is no pain but the bright laser light is extremely bright which makes it difficult to keep the eye open. A shot will be needed behind the eyeball to provide numbing and to block the corona so basically it temporary blocks you from seeing. After the shot the laser was no problem. The laser today is like a machine gun instead of single zaps.
