Blackseed oil and black cumin are two different things. You cook with both of them yes, different plants. They are actually talking about Blackseed oil, not black cumin as stated. (Look at the bottle. It says Black Seed. It does not say Black Cumin). It can be confusing if you are not familiar with these ingredients. But just remember that what you want to get is “nigella sativa”. That is the scientific/Latin name. That is Blackseed oil. They have used it in Asia and in the Caribbean for ages as a homeopathic treatment for all sorts of ailments

@SensoryAlchemy
@SensoryAlchemy 3 жыл бұрын
Nigella sativa IS black cumin seed aka black seed oil. Your comment is wrong and unhelpful. Also it's not homeopathic, you probably meant naturopathic; not the same. Homeopathy falls under naturopathic medicine, however black seed oil in not homeopathic. Google is your friend, try looking things up before giving false info and confusing people. They are very different however black seed and black cumin are not.
@curiosityguru9037
@curiosityguru9037 3 жыл бұрын
@@SensoryAlchemy The main difference between black seeds and black Cumin is that “black seeds” are scientifically Nigella Sativa and are used to make Blackseed oil. Black cumin seeds are primarily used as a spice and are typically Bunium Bulbocastanum. These are two different seeds. I have used both regular cumin and black cumin seeds in cooking for decades. They are long and skinny, and they also have a very pungent flavor. Black seeds on the other hand, are very tiny, small and round in comparison to black cumin seeds. They actually look more like black sesame seeds than any type of cumin. So they are two different plants. Because of the confusion, it has become more and more common now to improperly refer to nigella sativa as black cumin, instead of black seed. Most people aren’t aware there is a distinction and could easily run to the local Indian grocery store and buy a bag of black cumin seeds. If you were to take black cumin seeds and grind them up or extract the oil, you would not be getting the same beneficial properties that you would if you actually use the nigella sativa black seeds that are referred to in this video. So for those who have never heard of Blackseed oil before, this is an important distinction to make so they can make sure to get the right thing.
@SensoryAlchemy
@SensoryAlchemy 3 жыл бұрын
@@curiosityguru9037That's great that you make your own extracts but most people probably aren't doing that. When they go to buy a black seed oil (nigella sativa) it will most likely say black cumin on the details or nutrition/supplement facts as this is the common name, amongst many, for this seed. You said "look at the bottle, it says black seed oil, not black cumin", however every reputable brand I've ever seen says black seed oil on the front and black cumin in the details. Probably more important is that the buyer is looking for the thymoquinone content as this is the main active compound in the oil that gives it its medicinal benefits. As far as other cumin or other black cumin, yes there is a seed called Kala Jeera which is unrelated and is also called black cumin and looks like a dark brown version of the long skinny cumin seed, but almost nobody is buying the seed to make the oil. They are buying the oil and the oil they are buying will say black cumin aka nigella sativa on it. The seed names are confusing but telling people the oil they want won't say black cumin on it is false and makes things even more confusing.

Narrated Khalid bin Sa`d: We went out and Ghalib bin Abjar was accompanying us. He fell ill on the way and when we arrived at Medina he was still sick. Ibn Abi 'Atiq came to visit him and said to us, "Treat him with black cumin. Take five or seven seeds and crush them (mix the powder with oil) and drop the resulting mixture into both nostrils, for `Aisha has narrated to me that she heard the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) saying, 'This black cumin is healing for all diseases except As-Sam.' Aisha said, 'What is As-Sam?' He said, 'Death.'

@@finmarx Of course billions of people respect t and follow him. Stop spreading lieS. If you know what's good for you. You think youre the first to spread lies about the Propher Muhammed peace be upon him. During his time he had all sorts of characters after him God defends his honour. Your words don't impact his honour one bit. You just sadly choose to spread evil by attacking a noble person. As I told you in a previous comment if he was so lusftful and wrong etc.. why would he marry a woman age 40 when he was 25? She was his wife, his first wife and only wife for 25 years. How many men throughout time marry a woman who is 15 years older than them? In the prime of their youth? You choose ro listen to false lies, trash. If thats who you choose to be no one can help you.

Just make sure it's OK with kidney problems to take black seed oil. I heard that people with liver problems, obviously different organ, should be careful taking too much BSO. BSO as a liquid can be very strong tasting. So, best to take with a little raw honey and drink cold water. There may be some capsules. Just make sure it is Nigerian BSO as it has a high level of thymoquinone. Maybe also research the benefits of astaxanthin to see benefits and when to avoid, depending on her health situation
