That happened with a lot of games. Some of the old RPGs had good stories and lots of gameplay, and some were easily modded and that was encouraged. One reason I quit gaming was because so many games were meant for online play and single player campaigns, if offered, might only be a few hours. Another reason was than the reliance on gee-whiz graphics meant one high end machine after another and I wasn't going to pay that.

I can excuse Battlefield 1's historical inaccuracies. The Act Man, in his video about Battlefield 1, talked about how a completely realistic WW1 game would be boring with just sitting in the trenches and death if you stepped out for one second. He can suspend his disbelief for the sake of it being a WW1 game set in a WW1 setting with WW1 weapons and WW1 soldiers. BF5 didn't get the soldiers part correctly, which is probably one of the biggest things. Therefore, I can excuse BF1, but not BF5. I'm bad at explaining this, so go watch his video if you want a better explanation.

Even if its modern women on the frontlines makes no sense. When they have to water-down training just so women can pass the training. There was a famous army officer who is famous for passing the Royal Marines combat training, though she didn't pass it. What actually happened is that the higher ups, the brigadiers, came down to the training area and keep in mind she failed the same test 13 times literally 13 times. The day the brigadiers came down, she passed all the tests. Just to fill a political sjw agenda. I fear for my white godson who is 6 years old and is always suspended for correcting his teachers.

In this case ea isn't making a good game they're pandering to people for money, kinda like how star wars battlefront 1 and 2 were. They're pandering not because they care, but for the same reason as many companies even now pander to these groups, money. There are a good amount of left pandering games, like saints row, that are good games. Why? Because these are futuristic, and thus can be immersive. But ww2 is different. It's a part of the past. It's one thing to make a game based off of historical events, but it's another to try to change that history just to pander to a side who most likely doesn't care about videogames as an attempt of relying on the fans and people who continually surround themselves in propaganda to validated their thoughts and opinions. My point is. If you're going to make a good game that's realistic or historical accurate, then work with the groups that have that. For example if you want a ww2 game that has lead women role, go off of Soviet Russia's side with one of the women that was there on their end of the war. If you want a ww2 game with more black people in it, why not use the Tuskegee airman. If they're going to try to pander while being realistic, why not do something along these line with a story to satisfy both?

Couple of issues here: Firstly, prosethtic limbs existed prior to ww2. They were mass produced after ww1 to enable veterans to get back into the workforce. The design in the game is actually very similar to a prosthetic limb used by a WW1 veteran going back to his job. He was seen wielding a scythe, not something too unsimilar to a cricket bat in how it’s wielded by the hand: gripped in the hand. Prosthetics were not meant to completely replace the missing limb, but were specifically designed for a task. A soldier in ww2 having a prosthetic is not a major issue with realism. Secondly, the issue of a white soldier carrying a samurai sword. While Japan focused on the pacific and not the European front, there have been several submarines that would travel to its European allies carrying things of importance. Would it not be unreasonable for a Japanese officer to be on a submarine, only to then die in battle and have his sword taken as a trophy / piece of intimidation? Arguing that multiple high priority submarines would not be a target the allies were searching for would be idiotic at best. Thirdly, the very fact that there is an issue with these things at all while discrepancies in gameplay are forgiven. Calling it cartoonish is plain and simply inaccurate. Cartoonish implies simple visuals, which you never stated were inadequate. If anything, you seemed to intentionally avoid this talking point by claiming it doesn’t matter. And then talking about the presumption that the game is realistic is laughable. If you’re looking for realism in a video game, you’re not looking in the right place. The whole reason why you can enjoy video games is by suspending your disbelief of the facts. Previous battlefield games aren’t realistic either, but you suspend your disbelief of those inaccuracies because they don’t bother you. And considering your own perceptions of what really happened are inaccurate, are you really the authority to describe what is and is not realistic? Finally, who cares? It’s a game, I don’t care what the characters are like or what the surrounding is as long as it’s fun. And if you care more about a fictional environment being realistic despite the fact that you’ve had four games previous to show you how unrealistic it is over it being fun, I’d hate to be in your mindset.

The old ones had many issues caused by limited hardware, but they had the right spirit and tried to introduce history as game and gave an imagination how it could have felt. Today we get games with intentional inaccuracies and forgeries for only one reason: fun and more fun. There is no limitation anymore by historic facts. This stupid gaming scene is quite depressing. But i think that SJWs are not the main reason for this disaster, it's first of all a design decision made for more sales (massive customization variety), profit does not really care about SJWs. Microtransactions are proving this, they aren't correct either and are exploiting children. EA does not care. And i'm anti-gun in real life but this has nothing to do with truthful historical games, that SJWs might have caused this is imho a legend. It's about money and sales and the result of strategic thoughts about profit optimization (in this case probably failed thoughts, a wrong business decision).
