Mam why pge2 is bronchodilator ?

PGE2 is a physiological prostaglandin produced by activation of COX-1. It is a potent bronchodilator. It is a bronchodilator. We can’t question this. Asthma may be caused due to an imbalance between bronchoconstrictors PGF2α, PGD2, TXA2, Leukotrienes AND bronchodilators PGE2, PGI2. All these autacoids are produced on regular basis in our body and a balance exists between them. Asthma arises when the balance is disturbed. Like balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic regulated heart rate. If parasympathetic starts dominating it causes bradycardia If sympathetic stars dominating it causes tachycardia
