having plastic surgery IS MOST CERTAINLY,WITHOUT A DOUBT,being someone you are not! being an actor/actress is spending most of your time acting and studying how to act, which is being someone you are not! STOP LIVING A COMMON CORE LIFSTYLE,you see what it's done to math. I WILL BET MY HOUSE THAT YOU AND HANOI JANE AND 85% of this planet wipe your ass from the back to the front.i'll double or nothing that house bet that you think a gender change or choice of gender someone lies to themselves about(you will no doubt be more familiar with the bullshit term "identify with" are A O K to do that's lets unlock all the prison doors because the prisoners will tell you they are innocent, hell i squek by on my income but i live like(identify myself) as if i were a texas oil and cattle baron but i'm a fucking liar, kinda,i'm being truthful about my lie. because i have the BALLS TO OWN UP TO WHO I AM. if you're a woman but you would rather live like what the world perceives how a man should conduct himself and you retitle yourself, you haven't fixed anything, only masked it. grow a pair of Balls, because you know who you are and DAMN PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE and instead tell them, kiss my ass,you will live your life as you choose, not by their whispers and vocal insults steering you.i'm (not) sorry but that add on dick/or folded in used to be a dick pretending to be a wallet,AINT A DICK OR A PUSSY,AND WILL NEVER PERFORM OR CREATE THE SENSATIONS A REAL ONE DOES,THATS COLD TRUTH. HEY I LOVE BIG BOOBS ON A WOMAN,BUT TITS DON'T MAKE A WOMAN.NOT MEANT TO BE MEAN,BUT I'M SICK OF NO ONE, ,EVEN WHEN ABLE TO,WILL SPEAK TRUTH ANYMORE. AND ACTORS,IF THEY ARE GOOD AT THEIR CRAFT,WHICH IS WHY YOU LIKE THEM,BECAUSE THEY ARE GOOD AT THEIR CRAFT, OF ACTING,SHOULD HAVE YOU,NOT DOUBTING THEM OR ASSUMING THEY ARE ALWAYS ACTING,WHICH IS ON A SET,OR LYING,WHEN NOT FILMING,BUT HAVE YOU PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO SEE IF YOUR BEING GASLIGHTED,EVEN THE BEST ACTORS,NEVER SAW THE GAME RUN ON THEM BY AGENTS,DIRECTORS,OR SPOUSE UNTIL THE MILLIONS WERE ALREADY GONE FROM THEIR ACCOUNTS. ADD IN SHE OWNED HALF OF CNN WHILE MARRIED,SO THATS NOT GOOD SINCE THE ONLY TRUTH EVER TOLD ON THAT CHANNEL WAS THE DATEE OF AIRING AND THE TIME ON THE 20 CLOCKS.HITLER WOULD HAVE LOVED THE YED TURNER MACHINE.

keith turbin Ever heard of spell check or plain old checking before hitting reply? You're a judgemental ASS! I wouldn't want you as a neighbor, co-worker and never ever would I choose someone like you as a friend! Ugly on the inside means ugly on the outside and you are an ogre for sure. Everything this woman said was from the heart and full of honesty. People like you who puke ugly words like you just have are usually closet homosexuals or have been abused in some way and are angry and judgemental because they're trying to cover up their own insecurities. Nobody should have to live their life in the closet. If you need to come out then I pray you do so. Something is bothering you and I don't believe for a second that it has anything to do with what you just said with such evil intent. If you think that an actor getting taken for some money by an agent is much different than the taxes you pay to your crooked gov.t then you are fooling yourself! The only thing I agree with about anything you said was that CNN lies, has nothing to do with Jane Fonda. I doubt seriously that she had anything to say about what was reported on that channel. WTF does Hitler have to do with any of this? You Sir, are a Loon!

Yes yes yes she has remained fit all her life and like many people in her profession her identity is by necessity invested in her appearance. But compare and contrast with Vanessa Redgrave who doesn't give a fuck about what she looks like and after multiple losses in one year of her 1st husband, only sister,, and daughter Natasha Richardson in a skiing accident was still tirelessly working with orphans in Bosnia still desperately needing help after that horrible conflict; don't see ballerina Fonda stop thinking about how she looks long enough to do anything so dangerous and self-forgetful, ever. At the end of my life if I can do anything close to that, that affords me self-respect I can leave this world in a state of peace this trivial self-regarding woman will never have.

And it hits me that people are always afraid of women like that and will try to reduce her to nothing with vicious words. But look at how intelligent and unaffected she is by such trash. That drives haters even crazier.

It's quite incredible, isn't it? The amount of lies, propaganda and hatred against Jane Fonda because she has stood up for what was right in times of when saying the right thing was seen as "the wrong thing". She's be widely disliked for her stance on Vietnam, which is an incredibly justified and moral stance to have. The vietnam war was a war for profit, and pure invasion. America were terrorists in that war, and the public were brain washed to believe it was for good, when it's proven factually it was for greed. Jane Fonda is an incredible power house for the things she has done.

As a person who actually lived during those times, many, many of us agreed with what she did. We chose not to be hoodwinked into buying the lies about the war and were tired of our friends and relatives dying over there for an ill-gotten war. She protested in Vietnam through the troops, we protested in the streets of our communities. Looking back, she was actually right in everything she said over there. The damage that those who survived carried home with them still haunts their worlds today. I will forever have a broken heart for what those young man had to endure and how their lives were changed forever, all for politics!

This is a very honest interview. She makes no excuses, just talks like a normal person. When your parents are gone, yes it is painful. But when your parents are powerful people, influencing your life and your decisions, it is life altering when they are gone. You have a chance to be your own person, aside from what your parents demanded of you. Make your own decisions, and feel a certain freedom that was never available before. My parents were not Hollywood royalty, or wealthy, but to me, they were very influential to my every day life. When they passed, I was left without them, without their direction. And was able to find a different path, in my own way, without all the scrutiny and displeasing them. I know what she means about that. And her honesty about plastic surgery, why she did it, totally understandable. If I could afford it, I would get rid of a few wrinkles and waddles too, absolutely. I'm 57, and I see things that I would correct and make better if I could. But overall, I'm happy enough. I am in my 50's, I look like I am. It's ok. It is what it is. I'm happy to still be here. I know of lots of people who didn't make it to 57, so I am grateful for every year. Jane is 80 now, and she still looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, and still doing movies that entertain us. All the best to her.

This is was so important for me to hear because I’ve always resented my parents for the way our ideologies clashed. Growing up first generation Mex-American to incredibly old school-old fashion Mexican parents and being raised to be defined as “liberal” is so incredibly problematic. But when I heard Jane Fonda say “it didn’t have anything to do about me. They had their own insecurities to work on.” I was so taken back because it’s the absolute truth with my own parents. They’re pushing their insecurities and fears on to me and I’ve learned to forgive their way even if they didn’t need my forgiveness. For myself, I forgave them & with that I grow.

That's sad that Jane's father said that she had a good body but not a good face meanwhile she looks a lot like him (and he was a handsome successful movie star)! Well, I would have to disagree with her father on that because she became a sex symbol and how many ugly sex symbols are there? -None! Robert Redford and Jane in Barefoot in the Park are stunning together! to me that's undeniable. Jane you look great now and always did!

Yes it is sad what Jane and Peter said about their father...wonder how much is true. The remark may have been taken out of context.

I wish I had the money to have all that done to myself, but I'm the same age as Jane, and I still look good even tho a few tucks of the wattles and a face lift. I'm doing my best to look my best, with soap and water and Eucerin Repair.

She can be so witty and sassy in an elegant way. I’m struck by her wisdom and how she’s managed to peer above the empty superficiality of Hollywood; has so much depth. She’s honest but I do wish she wouldn’t blame wanting to be pretty on her dad. I think all women want to be beautiful - just because - and nothing wrong with that just give God the glory and don’t become arrogant about it. I mean who aspires to be ugly? Anyway she has always had a strikingly beautiful face. I watch her old interviews and can’t take me eyes of her eyes and animated and gorgeous face.

I don't recognize myself anymore and I'm almost 70 years old. Finally I now understand why women and celebrities get face lifts and more... If I had the money and the nerve, I'd be down at the office today! So glad Jane is coming forward about plastic surgery. No reason for people to hide it anymore, such like changing one's hair color. It's everyone's choice nowadays!

Jane has the enthusiasm of a younger being, she has campaigned for a better world, she cares, and her honesty is from the heart, I agree with all the comments above.I feel sad that her father didn’t keep that particular thought to himself, and hope that he was proud of his intelligent daughter, despite his objectification of women. Perhaps this served to make her the strong woman she is, a great inspiration to us all. We like you a lot in the UK too.

Jane you look lovely. The work you have done is entirely up to you. You do not have to defend it. A year after my daughter died I looked into the mirror and saw an old lady. I was 55. I had a full, face lift. I have no regrets and it gave me a “ life lift’. I am 70 now and am loving my face even the neck waddle. Do what you need to do to feel better about yourself.

There's way too much, pressure on women in Hollywood. If an actress decides to get a facelift, she is judged. If the actress decides not to get face lift, she's judged!

She did ONLY eyes and chin? Through time she must have done lots of little 'interventions' not all surgical...Must admit the result is great unlike many others
