However no concrete evidence of this is found in research based studies in sample populations. One of my favourite seniors advised that the amount of anaesthetic solution should not be increased beyond the recommended dosage, it might be painful for the patient (especially in case of the palate as there is no sufficient space for more anaesthetic solution to deposit). Rather the idea should be to administer the anaesthetic solution in such a way that it reaches the target site effectively. And I still follow the same thing that I have been taught by him. I have never increased the dosage of anesthetic solution. Recently one of my juniors asked the same question, what should be done in cases where the local anesthesia is not highly effective. For instance,in the cases of Abscess, and in heavy smokers. Some people say that increasing the dosage helps in such cases. I would really like to ask this question: Is there any better alternative to, increasing the dosage of Local Anesthetic solution in such cases.. I would request you to kindly shed some light on this topic in your next video.
