I will pray for him. I also hope that he has a realistic outlook on the current state of things. If he wants to say the TLM (unless he’s in a Trad community), he’s going to have to do it not only privately, but in secrecy. And, if he wants to preach the true faith, he is going to receive criticism, reprimands, and even “cancellation.” He will not be supported by the very men who should treat him like a beloved son. There are great graces in store for doing this, but that won’t make it any easier. The pressure to “toe the party line” is immense.

Thank you for caring. Jesus led me to His Church 35 years ago, at age 27. It was an absolutely profound conversion and the Catholic Church has been my "thing" ever since. I have cried and cried since hearing this terrible news. Having a bunch of evil, soulless men attempting to DEFILE Jesus' Bride, the Church is something I never thought would happen. I'm tempted to leave the Church now. I never thought ANYTHING would cause that to happen. At least the Orthodox Churches aren't OBSESSED with promoting SODOMY. Bishop Strickland is who brought me back to the Catholic faith in the year 2001. The whole time he spent with me was something I will never forget. He heard my confession, and we talked for two hours about everything. He is a marvelous Spiritual and devoted Catholic man who is only doing the right thing by his parishioners, and his Catholic believes beliefs. For him to be told he has to leave has broke my heart. The reason why he is being severely punished and sanctioned unjustly is BECAUSE Bishop Strickland is an actual shepherd who LOVES his flock. He stands out among the hive of liberal bishops in Texas. I am a protestant, but the love I have for the Catholic church and also the Orthodox church for that matter is hard to describe. I love all of you, and my heart breaks hearing about what is going on with the Catholic church and its traditions. I know God is with all of you who are courageous enough to stand with your traditions like the Latin Mass. It’s the same here in Ireland. If a priest puts his head above the parapet and preaches the actual Gospel He will get his knuckles rapped and the media will do a job on him too. My parish is in Strasbourg, France. They just dismissed our Archbishop Msgr. Ravel a few months ago. Same story as with Bishop Strickland. He is traditionalist, tried to clean up the diocese, met opposition, received an apostolic visitors team who told him to resign. He didn't, and I've heard he got a message from Rome telling him to resign under threat of excommunication. Went to his last mass, it was beautiful but also sad. As of now we have not received a new Archbishop. I don't understand what is going on.

I pray for Bishop Strickland, and that God uses this injustice to do great things for the Church. Last year I watched Man of God, the indy film about the life of the Eastern Orthodox St. Nektarios, who lived in the latter part of the 19th century into the early 20th century. He too was unjustly removed from his office. I was struck by his humble devotion to a life of faithful service in every circumstance he was brought to. This story has similar echoes.

There are a lot of occasions throughout the Church's history where bishops were forcibly removed and or exiled. I am reading a sort of dictionary of saints and many of these men had to endure it. This usually happened during times of heresies like Arianism or by political enemies who did not like what he had to say.

St. Nektarios didn’t publicly accuse his superiors of undermining the Church or publicly read letters saying they were usurpers to their positions. He took their abuse with grace having never done anything of the sort. May he serve as an example of the right way to do things for Bishop Strickland.
