I think it's a lot of bollocks. Of course, people aren't supposed to sit still and focus for hours on end. Kids should be outside exploring. There's no nurturing in schools for creative minds. We have removed the requirement to busy ourselves cooking, rearing livestock, growing food and looking after children. Men have to push physical boundaries in gyms, not building houses or fixing stuff around the home. It would be interesting to compare the amount of diagnosis in those who have physical jobs and those who are stagnent on laptops.

With a modern society it requires a government to function. With a government it requires a pretentiously stupid society to be able to rule the people, as a stupid public is a controllable public since a stupid public behaves, thinks, acts, and etc, predictably. Creativity itself is part of intelligence, you have an imagination, you're thinking outside the box. It's no surprise or should be no surprise that literally any school system (though the American school system is admittedly the worst) but really, any school system is not teaching intelligence, they're dumbing down the public. The school system is literally spending far more time banning books from the curriculum than assigning them. And other modern countries, for example Europe, aren't any better, the very European citizens or at best, their government (though it is often agreed with) spend far more time banning books altogether than reading them. That being said and it already being said how school psychiatrists do testing for the school system, what does that say about the school system? It illustrates that psychiatry all around and therefore, labels of "mental illness" is at best, damn close to pure illusion, another ruse (just like the school system telling the public the goal is to "educate") to support authoritarianism (well, that and big pharma).

In any modern society it requires a government to rule the public. And any government requires pretentious stupidity of the public to be able to rule them, for a stupid society is predictable and therefore controllable, they will think, behave, act, and etc, predictably. And due to the pretentious element of the indoctrinated masses, they will not question their echo chamber as they're already telling themselves their echo chamber is "smart." It's no surprise at this point, or at least should be no surprise, that the school system doesn't actually "educate the public" like they tell them, but indoctrinates them into the pretentious stupidity they expect of the public. The American school system is the worst of this but certainly not limited to. The US school system spends far more time banning books from the curriculum than assigning them to the students. And other modern societies aren't any better, European countries spend far more time banning books altogether than reading them (or at least the European government does) but even then, the European citizens generally agree with it. Now look to psychiatry and how there's school psychiatrists doing testing to determine the students mind state for the school system. At this point it becomes quite clear that psychiatry is designed to cultivate the same pretentious stupidity, designed to support the very same authoritarianism that the school system does. Media lies. Your family lies. The schools lie. Your government lies. Your religious texts lie. Should it shock us at all, that psychiatry lies? No, of course not, it's part of the same government matrix, it's all a design to help us along more and more in agreeing with and accepting the bizarre Fahrenheit 451/1984/Brave New World hybrid that's being paved for the people.

Over diagnosis and misdiagnosis does not mean something doesn't exist. It's akin to saying Autism doesn't exist simply because some people are just socially awkward.

So curious that there are a million videos advocating for this medicalised nonsense with millions of views. The dsm has been pushed so much its now fashionable and cool to have certain 'disorders' lets hope this gets more views the normalisation of psychiatric labels and mass drugging is by far the most destructive paradigm psychiatry has ever unleashed on the world and it has quite the history

Is there over diagnosis of it? Yeah, that's an extremely bad thing. Does it not exist? Of course it does. We can see this in people suffering from ADHD who state how these medications helped them tremendously. Here's the fine line I'm gonna draw between those who do believe ADHD exists and those who don't: we want to help people, you do not, You want to think that you helped. We can easily see this proven when our advice is helpful mental exercises, medication, and life hacks while your advice is "focus harder" or "try better". If saying "do better" doesn't help the first time, what makes you think saying it the fifteenth time will actually fix it? Madness is repeating the same thing expecting different results but your boomer dad advice methods are fine because...why? You're not helping anyone but yourself and your own ego.

The medication is largely amphetamines and amphetamines help most people with focus and concentration, at least in the short term, this is why there is such a booming black market for these prescription amphetamines. They are not a ‘medication’ correcting some chemical imbalance but a drug creating an imbalance that might be more or less favourable than business as usual - again at least in the short term. If you are an adult then great knock yourself out use whatever - alcohol can reduce social anxiety in the short term but I think we’re all aware of the long term consequences. But please lets stop forcing our children to use these dangerous drugs and telling them they have a fictitious brain disease, how abusive. The long term research on prescribed amphetamines is shockingly scant and this ought to concern everyone and raise many questions but ignorance is bliss it seems- however what little research has been done shows worsening long term outcomes on a range of measures, cardiovascular problems, brain shrinkage, reduced height, appetite suppression, weight loss and a range of other issues. When did I ever suggest people just try and ‘do better’? Or any of the clap trap, angry egotistical silliness you suggest? Even the chair of DSM 4 Allen Frances predicted back in 2013 and wrote in his book ‘saving normal’ when he presided over DSM 4 that we will see and I quote him ‘a fake epidemic of adhd, bi polar and autism’.and here we are. Do yourself a favour and go learn something by reading the unrecognised facts section over at the Council for Evidence Based Psychiatry or try the ‘learn/unlearn’ section over at the Inner Compass Initiative. Then try the books, papers and presentations by the founder of the former. Or try the free version of psychiatrist Sami Timmy’s ‘insane medicine’ over at the excellent resources mad in America.

@@futures2247sorry for the late reply. Either you didn't tag me in the reply on purpose or accident, not sure. Either way, my response. It seems your main concern in the medication on ADHD begins and ends with Adderall, since that is the amphetamine that is usually prescribed. You should know that Adderall isn't given out like candy, right? There are different medications that are usually given at a far more frequent rate than Adderall is. Non stimulants are far more common to give people suffering from ADHD than stimulants are and when they are given they're usually measured out evenly. Anti-depressants, anxiety medication as well as others are usually given just as much, if not more, than Adderall is. Ritalin, for instance, was not a stimulant but was before given out as ADHD medication, moreso than Adderall was. It's rare for someone to be given Ritalin, because they found that it wasn't as helpful as once perceived. But that punches a hole in the theory doesn't it? Here's the thing: whenever I meet someone who says "ADHD doesn't exist" I usually have to ask them what would you do to help someone who is suffering from the symptoms? Almost everyone usually says 'discipline', which just means the belt. It makes me genuinely believe that such people don't want to help, they want to continue to do unhelpful things while hoping everyone else thinks they are being helpful. Some fathers are stern to their children hoping to raise them well, but a damn good number of them raise their kids like that because they love the fear they put in their kids eyes. I've worked around a lot of people who have ADHD and seen the number of vitamins that are helpful, the exercises, the mental tricks they use as well as the helpful and thoughtful advice they share with one another to help each other outside of medication. The opposing side, however, never brings anything to the table other than their own personal benefits. If you don't want to honestly help, that's fine by me. Your children will be the judge of your parenting later on in life, as many boomers have learned in their waning days. But when you pretend to be helpful while I just see nothing but egotistical drive behind it, I get peeved. There's a difference between over-diagnosis and something not existing. If you actually want to help stop teachers and others over-diagnosing it, you need to drop the 'it doesn't exist' malarkey. It's worse than the "vaccines give kids autism" which made addressing a highly dangerous child vaccine from even being talked about because no one ever said that Autism doesn't exist even though Autism and ADHD have extremely similar tendencies and traits.
