Georgy Zhukov well typically jord watches are quite fashionable. When speaking of watches barely anyone cares about how accurate the time is on them unless it is above a minute off. I see everyone saying seiko is better for the same price but that is easily a lie. Seiko watches may be more accurate but again nobody truly gives a fuck. Jord watches are more appealing, they look better. I’m a bit surprised seiko watches sell for as much as jord watches do.

They are rubies, required as bearings to allow the mechanism to run with minimum friction, allowing accuracy. Rubies are used in all mechanical watches, even Chinese and Russian mechanisms. One exception are old Timex mechanisms, which cut costs and improved toughness (but limited lifespan) by using metal bearings instead. When he said “sapphire”, he was mixing the rubies up with the sapphire crystal glass cover.

I’m really impressed they made a watch out of Wenge. It’s a super hard wood to work with, it is extremely porous and splinters easily, and yet it is also very hard for a palm and difficult to machine precisely as a result. That watch is beautiful though.

I bought one: broke. But the service was good and so I got a new one. That one started falling apart after just two weeks. But I didn’t want to send it back again, so this time I went to a professional watchmaker. He: (and I quote) „we are getting swamped with these cheap Chinese wood watches and I won’t go near it.“ Me: „that can’t be, I spent hundreds of bucks on this watch“ Him: „yes… a few hundred… do you know how much money these watches cost with the double spring-balance when they really work? At least 1.500 Bucks!!!“ They look great, they feel great and the marketing is world class. No one expects garbage at these prices. But they are truly worthless in any aspect. Nonetheless I love this video. As I said… the marketing is world class. 🙂👍🏻

If you mean the once-a-second tick then you can hear it now because it has been added in. Mechanical watches move the second hand multiple times per second and with less force, so they lack the loud, distinctive 'tick-tock' of quartz clocks and watches.

i have seen this video in my recommendeds for quite some time now, but tonight i finally clicked on it, and i have never felt so relaxed in my whole life. Thanks Dr T. :) edit: and im getting this effect standing in my kitchen watching this video on a laptop with no headphones, so i think it is safe to assume if i was laid down and comfortable i would have passed out long ago lol

Ok imma be honest... I would take this over a Rolex, not only for the drastic reduction in price, but for the fact that I think having 20+ diamonds on a watch makes it so valuable, that I don't want to wear it. These watches are clean looking, and I think they look very professional and not too flashy.

Get a Casio G-Shock. They’re very cheap, and they’re pretty much just Nokia phones in watch form. The most expensive G-Shock in production is only 1,500$. It’s a luxury watch, but it still would probably survive a tank blast.
