Anyone else hear Bon Scott and the boys? AC/DC was just forming as a band when this came out. The tough Scottish/English pub rock sound had a huge influence on their sound.
@johnwelch62778 ай бұрын
Absolutely, as a matter of fact from what I've read, Bon Scott loved Alex Harvey was influenced quite a bit by him.
@spinynorman15627 ай бұрын
Yes, similar vocal style, for sure.

You are very astute. When AC came out, it was evident so long ago. That path has its own consequences. No brakes on this vehicle...~grin~

Gently menacing, the pure nucleus of rock and roll honed to the bone. Gotta love this.
@louise_rose Жыл бұрын
Great song, very funny lyrics too - and with stupendous energy: This is obviously playback - the drummer at the opening is a dead giveaway and at least the backing track is identical with the album version (Alex's vocals are also close, not sure if he's singing live here or not) - but they make up for it with this visually stylish feline performance and, indeed, wonderful make-up! 😃

Love EVERYTHING about this video. The drummer is just like FUCK this, not even gonna pretend to lip synch this shit. The singer can't sing for squat or lipsync. And that's what makes this so PERFECT. The rock and roll attitude here was just awesome.. At 1:20 with the clown makeup....just genius! I've listened to some of their other stuff and can't get into it but this song and this video are both masterpieces of rock and roll!

Loved this band since I was a teen (getting near 60 now). Groundbreaking IMHO. Shame this was in the era of mime for tv music shows. Still. A good idea of how this crazy band presented live. Alex Harvey and SAHB, much like Lemmy and Motorhead where the outriders for a new wave of rock for the generation that were too young for Woodstock and the summer of love. Again IMHO.

Amazing performance and dedication to the show, despite tipping us early doors they were having to mime it. Love Ted adjusting his drum kit off his seat as the opening drum beat is heard! I was too young for them at the time, so SAHB are only a very recent late-in-life discovery. Bloody hell. I have fallen very hard for these charms. Routinely name checked as the best live act going I can believe it. If I were to be zapped back to the 1970s only to find Led Zep and SAHB playing different venues on the same night, my decision would not only be excruciatingly difficult but I suspect not the one that I always presumed it would be. BTW Aussie muso Stephen Cummings writes that Skyhooks, Bon Scott, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds owe their careers to SAHB. Many others I'm sure.
@stevecharman84202 жыл бұрын
Yep, Stephen Cummings is on the money. The influence on Skyhooks and Bon Scott is obvious. Back then they were huge in Australia. I regret never seeing them.
