First saw them in March 1973 when nobody- at least out in the sticks-knew much about them . The stage was done up like an Edwardian parlour and Alex came on dressed up in a posh person’s smoking jacket and other era props and everyone thought what the heck is this, and then they started playing and oh my gosh it was a mind blowing moment and they were absolutely amazing and blew the crowd away and they were the support group. They were actually really popular in some areas in the USA. Allentown ,Erie & Reading PA . Cleveland & Cincinnatti Ohio. Many of the smaller markets in the midwest & south. They did it the old fashioned way. They played everywhere in the US not just the major cities. They used to be on multiple band bills as a 2nd or 3rd place band. In the smaller cities they became headliners. I've seen SAHB blow away many top billed bands like Alice Cooper & Black Sabbath. The major city radio stations never really gave them their due.
