What a powerful and relevant message. Yesterday, I spoke with two people about the Lord; one said he goes to church but then proceeded to show me a picture of his Hindu god; the other said that’s he’s a Christian but we can’t claim to know the truth since we were not there when Christ walked the earth. So many of us are wearing the sign but are nowhere near to what the sign says.

My parents would listen to the Urban Alternative and as a 12 year old I would listen and be amazed at how sound he was because my Daddy has a similar gift. I ask that you pardon me for a bit of pride...I feel like how I wrote this is me channeling a bit of my inner-Tony Evans. LOL But, clearly, Tony Evans does Tony Evans far better than Michael Miller Jr does Tony Evans. ---------- There is SO MUCH in this video. EVERYONE NEEDS to listen to this. Take an hour out of your day, and please listen. This is VITAL. The key point, among others, that stands out to me is this: "Christian" needs to be the adjective, not the noun. "Christian" needs to define the noun, you. You're not a black Christian or white Christian. You're not a liberal Christian or conservative Christian. You're not a female Christian nor a male Christian. You must not let OTHER things define your faith! YOUR FAITH MUST DEFINE YOU. You are a follower of Christ FIRST. Every time you put an adjective ahead of the noun, the adjective begins to define the noun. A blue cloth is not the same as a green cloth, even though they're both cloths. A male human is not the same as a female human even though they're both humans. The adjective defines the noun. And when you make your faith the noun instead of the adjective you begin to transform Christianity into something that it's not supposed to be instead of the Christ of Christianity transforming you into something you are supposed to be. When you come to Christ, you set aside your own agenda for the agenda of the Kingdom of God. When you come to Christ, you take on the IDENTITY of JESUS CHRIST - that's why Paul says that under Christ, there is NEITHER Jew nor Gentile (non-Jew), NEITHER male nor female, NEITHER free man or slave, NEITHER rich nor poor... YOUR IDENTITY is not defined (adjective) by your ethnicity, your sex, your status, your wealth or possessions. Are you a black or white man and you know Christ? You are a Christian black man or a Christian white man. Are you a man or a woman and you know Christ? You are a Christian man or a Christian woman. Are you rich or poor and you know Christ? You are a Christian poor or Christian rich person. Do you know Christ? Then put HIM FIRST. Everything else is subject to Him. How is it that a black man and a white man can sit in the same pew and not worry about altercations? Because if CHRIST is the Lord of their hearts and minds, they do not regard each other as men of color, but as brothers in Christ. How is it that a man and woman can look at each other with respect and dignity rather than a sex object or a potential attacker? Because if CHRIST is the Lord of their hearts and minds, they regard each other as siblings in Christ, sons and daughters of the Most High God, their Father and their Creator. They respect each other first as children OF GOD because they have fear of (deep respect for) God. How can a rich man and a poor man both find joy in life when both have been known to be precursors to depression and despair? Because if their hearts and minds belong to Christ and are focused on Him, their concerns are not based upon wealth or what wealth has afforded them. They are inwardly (and hopefully outwardly) rejoicing and focused upon the riches of Heaven where moth and rust cannot destroy and where thieves cannot even step foot to loot what they have stored there. CHRIST DEFINES EVERYTHING. But the moment we use ANYTHING else to define Christ or our faith in Christ we begin to lose the defining power afforded to us through and from Christ because we have taken His identity which was to redefine us and instead taken our identity to redefine Christ. Once we have redefined Christ we are no longer serving Christ but a Christ made in our own image instead of Christ who made us to be like Him, Him who created us to be like Him. Christ who is God who, while still God, took on the likeness of man in order to show man how to be like God because man does not understand God and God did not expect man to understand God but he does understand man. So Christ, as a man, redirected man's attention to God by living as a man ought to live before God and then dies to His own will, saying, "If you will, this is what I would will, but not my will but yours, Father, be done. Then Christ bid to man, saying, "If you wish to be with me, you must do as I do." And what Christ did was to die to His will which means that man must die to his will and be reborn anew so that he can be remade into the likeness of God because man's likeness is nothing like God because man took on a likness of himself saying, "I am my own god," and that likness is nothing like God. CHRIST DEFINES EVERYTHING.
