Great work as always! I will say, blues like that always make me think of the Ford GT. I probably would have done an orange where the yellow is, although the yellow does look great also!

Wow! Dave, I must say, this is probably my favorite Dr. Toys build. It gives me "Transformers Rumble" and "Pinocchio" vibes. I showed this to my pops (84) and it took him back to his childhood in the 40's in Mexico.

When I first seen you were making a robot 🤖 out of wood it made think of the Futurama episode when Bender went to that island 🏝️ with all the obsolete robots and transformed his metal body into a wooden one, but when I seen the finished product here, WOW!!! You really did a hell of a great job making some blocks of wood look like an authentic antique tin Japanese toy. Super Cool, My Friend. You have that paint chipping technique down pat. Challenging ourselves is how we learn i think, as artists. I love the project, it really has that "vinyl toy" vibe to it especially thanks to the popping colors and simple blocky design. I've recently started dabbling into laser cutting as well as the STEM center where i teach has a giant one and those machines are amazing. It also lead me to learn using Inkscape as well for the designs and there is huge potential for growth in this mixed-media approach for us makers.

I really like the proportions of this badboy. It has the exaggerated poise of an expensive custom vinyl toy. Ashley Wood [3A] did some chonky-boi robots a bit like this.

Wow! This robot looks more like metal than wood. It's cute and cool,🤖👍 like the one in the Japanese anime "Laputa"! The design is intricate and the distressed paint is nice. It's a wooden robot that my father made for me when I was a child.🤖

Great work! I wish you had been my shop teacher in junior high. I had the stereotypical one who was missing a finger and all we made was a thick clipboard covered in 20 coats of shellac. Would've been great spending the semester making one of your robots.

@@BodegaJoesCustomStudio Fortunately for me my mom was a self taught artist (like, really good artist) and at the age of 13 she taught me the principles of form, value, perspective ect... I actually feel really lucky because I was kinda a dummy in all subjects but art was my saving grace. I've been a graphic designer as my day job for the last 25 years! : )
