I came back to sculpting after a 9 month break and this video helped me so much. I thought "Oh no! He calls them 'teeth' now instead of 'teefers' like he used to. He must have gotten sophisticated and all grown-up on us", but then I see you labeled them 'teefers' so all is good with the world.

This was amazing, I got stuck on one part early on when trimming the legs because the flip feature to the left was activated so it kept on trimming in reverse. I didn't see that it was trimming in reverse because the floor cylinder was covering the part it was keeping so I thought it was simply deleting the object. Once, I figured it out the rest was a breeze. This has been so helpful, thank you!

hello dave! just wanted to let you know that i absolutely love your nomad sculpt tutorials, you’re really talented at this program, following your tutorials is fun yet frustrating… (it really is a test of patience sometimes!) but i always manage in the end, ive followed a few of your beginner tutorials and guides. recently finished the breakfast one on ur skillshare! I came to this wanting to slowly buildnip my skills to eventually model characters

I always look forward to your videos. I learn a lot watching you, and personally I enjoy the longer videos, shorter videos have to much skipping and fast forwarding for me to learn.

@drugfreedave It really is a work of art what you do in this type of videos, you teach step by step and it is something very useful for those who are learning and also for those who have been in the 3D sector for years, because it allows you to find inspiration to make new and own creations.👍🙂

What is smooth shading? How does it effect the object when 3d printing?
@drugfreedave6 ай бұрын
Makes the sculpt appear smooth. Normally my sculpts print smooth whether or not smooth shading was on while sculpting. I usually have it on.
@sud22327 ай бұрын
Im new to this, when would you want smooth shading off?
@drugfreedave7 ай бұрын
Don’t worry too much about it starting out, it’s mostly a preference. Sometimes it’ll make cuts cleaner or less clean, but honestly I wouldn’t worry about it! Looks better on usually 👍🏾

hmm when i remesh the toes and legs together at 200 one or the other just disappears from the group list but still shows on the scene, and they are separately remeshed to 150, also instead of making a facebook group you could also create a discord server that is more operative

Everytime I remesh (even high resolution) I loose all my edges. They become jagged and no longer sharp and crisp. I can’t get the sharpness back as the mesh is wonky after. I can’t find a way around it, even Boolean my objects will destroy any type of edge. Anyway to fix this? 😭
@drugfreedaveАй бұрын
Hmm, you can try making sure the objects you’re remeshing together are similar resolution. It can also happen if you remesh two meshes and one has smooth shading on, and one smooth shading off.

When I use a matcap, the original color is white. If you color your model other than white, matcap colors will look different
